Join Gateway Bible Church for our short series on the Creeds of the Church. This Sunday we will hear from Pastor Jay about the Nicene Creed.

1700 years ago, this past May, in the year 325, church fathers from across Christendom gathered in the small town of Nicaea in Asia Minor, some fifty miles from modern day Istanbul to defend the divinity of Jesus Christ and ultimately the truth and majesty of our trinitarian faith, and by doing so, defeat the heresy of Arianism. The Creed that came from this Council was later expanded in 381 to become what we know as the Nicene creed. It is the most confessed orthodox Creed in all of Christendom. This Sunday our subject will be the Nicene Creed and its importance to our trinitarian faith. One of the praise songs we will sing is “The God we love (The Nicene Creed).” It was released recently by City Alight and Matt Redman to commemorate the 1700 -year anniversary of the Council of Nicaea. Attached is a YouTube link to the song with lyrics. We invite you to add this song to your praise list as we prepare for Sunday.
