Hope to see everyone come out to our yard sale fundraiser Saturday, April 25 starting at 8AM. Proceeds will go toward improvements to our church restrooms. We will also have our candy bars there for sale that will benefit this years Vacation Bible School. Thanks in advance and God Bless.

We have two fundraisers going on at our church. One is our candy bar fundraiser with the proceeds going toward purchasing the crafts for our Vacation Bible School kids.

The second one is our candle fundraiser which we are getting close to our deadline in order to get them back before Mothers Day.

The candles are through Heritage Candles. These are their Journey of Faith line with different Scripture on them. They have a 75 +hour burn time with lead free wicks. The cost is $20 per Candle Each candle you purchase will include a free candle lighter. See pictures of candles below. Let me know if you would like one. Payment is not due till they come in. These would make great Mother’s Day gifts.

We have 100 candy bars left. Get yours before they are gone.

Finally got our candy bars in for our VBS Fundraiser. We couldn’t get the Old Ky Chocolate ones this year. We have Van Wyk candy bars. I tried the caramel one already and it was really good. Here are the flavors we have available if anyone wants some. They are $1 each.

Hey all my Facebook friends. Our Sunday School class is gathering things to make gifts for the nursing home residents for Christmas. They will be taking these and delivering them to them a week before Christmas. They have already made homemade Christmas Cards to go with the gifts. We need to fill a 100 bags. We are still shy on having enough to fill them. See below for a few gift ideas we are trying to get for the bags. These gifts do not need to be expensive ones. This is not the lesson we are trying to teach them. So often people are put in nursing homes and are forgotten about. We want to bring a little cheer to them and let them know we care. This is what Jesus would want us to do. Our lesson over the past few weeks has been “Serving God by Serving Others”. This is another project we are doing in that lesson. We are trying to be the hands and feet of Jesus. If anyone would want to help us out with a few of these items we would be most appreciative. We have the feet ready to go but need a few extra helping hands for we are approaching deadline to have them ready (which is Dec. 13)

NURSING HOME GIFT IDEAS:

Cozy blankets
Look for lightweight fleece or plush throws that are easy to wash and not too heavy.

Reading glass cases
Pick bright colors or soft, zippered pouches for added convenience.

Lightweight shawls or lap throws
Choose soft, breathable fabrics and machine-washable

Large-print crossword books
Or Word search puzzle books

Tissues (boxed or travel-size)

Calendars with large print
These help residents keep track of dates, appointments, and family visits.

Easy-grip pens
Writing can be tough with arthritis. Look for pens with rubber grips or larger barrels that are easier to hold. Bright ink colors can also make writing more fun.

Notepads or journals
Choose ones with lined pages, sturdy covers, and spiral binding for ease of use.
