🇰🇪 KENYA IS CALLING — AND YOU MAY BE PART OF THE ANSWER! 🙏🏾✈️❤️
Something amazing is happening in Kisii, Kenya, and we are excited to finally share the story with our Facebook family!
What began with one unexpected visitor to a Zoom prayer meeting has grown into an international mission opportunity involving Bible studies, baptisms, evangelism, health ministry, women’s ministry—and now FIVE churches waiting for a mission team to come!
HOW DID ALL OF THIS HAPPEN?
One Wednesday evening, Pastor Kevin from Kisii, Kenya, unexpectedly joined the Pasadena Seventh-day Adventist Church’s Zoom prayer meeting.
He kept coming back!
Week after week, Pastor Kevin—often joined by his wife—prayed with us, shared prayer requests and praises, watched our Sabbath services online, and developed a wonderful relationship with our church family.
Eventually, Pastor Kevin reached out to Pastor Michael Johnson, Speaker/Director of End Times Like These Ministries and Senior Pastor of the Pasadena Seventh-day Adventist Church, with a request:
Would he teach Bible studies by Zoom to his congregations in Kenya?
The answer was YES!
For 21 weeks, every Sunday at 5:00 a.m., Pastor Johnson taught the Seeds of Truth Bible Studies to our brothers and sisters in Kenya.
They faithfully gathered to study the Word of God. Many embraced the biblical truths they were learning, including the Seventh-day Sabbath, and grew in their commitment to Jesus Christ.
Upon completing the studies, participants even received diplomas mailed to them in Kenya!
But then came another request that changed everything.
🇰🇪 “WILL YOU COME TO KENYA?”
Pastor Kevin asked Pastor Johnson to come to Kisii with a mission team to continue the work in person and baptize those who are ready to publicly commit their lives to Jesus.
And the opportunity has continued to grow.
We now have FIVE churches waiting for us! 🙌🏾
Hundreds from the surrounding communities are also expected to attend the evangelistic meetings and hear the gospel.
This mission is being planned to include:
❤️ Evangelistic meetings
📖 Bible teaching and discipleship
💧 Baptisms
🩺 Community health expo and health education
👩🏾 Women’s ministries training
⛪ Church strengthening and establishment
🤝 Community outreach
🙏🏾 Prayer and personal ministry
Pastor Kevin has also specifically requested that Denise Johnson help train and equip women to develop strong women’s ministries within their churches and communities.
✈️ AND HERE’S WHERE YOU COME IN!
We don’t simply want to tell you what God is doing.
We want to invite you to become part of it!
There are three important ways you can help:
🙏🏾 PRAY — Pray for the people of Kenya, the five churches, the mission team, the evangelistic meetings, the baptisms, and for God to provide everything needed.
❤️ SUPPORT — Your financial gifts can help make it possible for the mission team to travel to Kenya and carry out this work. Once the necessary funds are received, we will be able to confirm our departure.
✈️ GO — Maybe you have been praying for an opportunity to serve on an international mission trip. We are still building the Kenya Mission Team, and we would love to hear from you!
You may be able to serve through health ministry, evangelism, Bible work, women’s ministry, prayer, outreach, music, organization, or simply by having a willing heart and hands ready to serve.
Jesus said:
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them…” — Matthew 28:19
And Philippians 2:4 reminds us:
“Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.”
🌍 Five churches are waiting.
💧 Precious souls are preparing for baptism.
📖 The Word has already been planted.
✈️ Now we are preparing to GO!
