They saw the miracles—but would not repent.

Capernaum, Chorazin, and Bethsaida were given an extraordinary privilege.

They heard Jesus teach.
They witnessed His miracles.
They saw His authority over sickness, nature, and creation itself.

Yet Jesus said they still would not repent.

That is what makes His words of judgment so serious.

He declared that even Tyre and Sidon would have repented if they had witnessed the mighty works performed among these cities.

And Capernaum—so greatly blessed by His presence and ministry—was warned that privilege without repentance would not save it.

This lesson from The Life of Jesus reminds us that revelation carries responsibility.

The more we are shown, the more we are accountable for how we respond.

**What happens when what I want conflicts with what God wills?**

We all have desires. Some are good. Some seem harmless. Some feel so deeply personal that we assume they must be right.

But the Christian does not ask God to validate every desire.

**We bring every desire before God to be evaluated.**

Galatians 5:24 says that those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

The desire may still speak.

It may still pull.

It may still feel very real.

**But it no longer has the right to rule us.**

When we come to the crossroads between **our will and God’s will**, our posture should be surrender:

**“Not my will, but Yours.”**

Join us as we examine what it means to surrender our desires, follow the Spirit, and live with the mind of Christ.

You don’t have to walk this journey of faith alone.

This Sabbath, we reflect on the blessing of fellowship in Christ—the strength, encouragement, prayer, and peace that come when believers gather with hearts centered on Him.

Acts 2:42 tells us that after receiving the Holy Spirit, the early believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer.

As you spend time with the Lord this Sabbath, also take time to enjoy the company of those who are like-minded in Christ. Encourage one another. Pray together. Strengthen one another.

“Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!” — Psalm 133:1

This morning in our Patriarchs Class, we looked at Jesus’ authority over the sea—and what His miracles reveal about our response to His call.

At His word, the fish filled the nets. The wind and waves obeyed Him. Jesus walked upon the water. Creation recognized His authority.

But the disciples were given something creation was not: a choice.

Jesus said, “Follow Me,” and they dropped their nets.

What is your net? What are you still holding onto that keeps you from moving when Jesus calls?

The fish obeyed Him.
The wind obeyed Him.
The waves obeyed Him.

What happens when the veil is removed?

In 2 Corinthians 3, Paul teaches that our sufficiency comes from God. His work is not merely written with ink or carved on tablets—it is written upon hearts by the Spirit of the living God.

The old covenant had glory, but through Christ we are introduced to a greater and lasting glory. When we turn to the Lord, the veil is removed. We are given freedom, and the Spirit begins the continuing work of transforming us into the image of Christ.

“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another.” — 2 Corinthians 3:18 (ESV)

The Christian life is more than learning what God requires. Christ removes the veil. The Spirit gives life. And God transforms us from within.

Peace in the storm.

As we enter this Sabbath, our prayer is that you will seek, pursue, and find the peace of God in the midst of whatever has been stirring around you.

Philippians 4:7 reminds us that “the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

The storm may not immediately disappear, but God’s peace can remain with us through it.

Join us for this week’s Sabbath Commencement Service as we reflect on Psalm 34:14, Philippians 4:4–7, and the promise of peace that comes from the Lord Himself.

May this Sabbath bring rest to your spirit, quiet to your mind, and peace to your heart.
