A Wonderful Kermes Celebration at St. Therese!

What a wonderful and successful Kermes! Our community came together for an afternoon filled with delicious food, laughter, fellowship, and fun. The event brought together parishioners, families, and friends, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone.

We are incredibly grateful to all of the volunteers who generously gave their time, talents, and energy to make the Kermes such a success. From preparing and serving the food to organizing activities, welcoming guests, and helping behind the scenes, every contribution made a difference.

A special thank-you goes to everyone who attended and supported the event. Your participation and enthusiasm helped make this Kermes a memorable celebration of faith, friendship, and community.

St. Therese shines brightest when we come together! Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a tremendous success. We look forward to celebrating together again soon!

Saint Maximilian Kolbe (1894 to 1941) was a Polish Franciscan priest whose life was marked by deep faith, devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, and heroic charity. He founded the Militia of the Immaculata and used modern media, including magazines and radio, to spread the Catholic faith. He also established the large Franciscan community of NiepokalanΓ³w in Poland and carried out missionary work in Japan and India.
During World War II, Kolbe sheltered refugees, including many Jews, and was arrested by the N***s. He was sent to the Auschwitz concentration camp in 1941. When a prisoner who was a husband and father was selected to die by starvation, Father Kolbe volunteered to take his place. After weeks of suffering in a starvation bunker, he was killed by lethal injection on August 14, 1941. His selfless sacrifice became a powerful witness to Christian love and courage.
Pope John Paul II canonized him as Saint Maximilian Kolbe on October 10, 1982, and honored him as a martyr of charity. Today he is remembered as a model of faith, sacrifice, and love for others.
St. Maximilian Kolbe, pray for us.
