Philip was going about his day when God gave him a very specific assignment: “Go over and join this chariot” (Acts 8:29).

Philip didn’t know the whole story, but he obeyed. Because he was willing, an Ethiopian official heard the gospel and believed in Jesus.

Sometimes God gives us an opportunity before He gives us all the details. We simply have to trust and obey.

God can use one conversation, one invitation, or one act of obedience to reach someone we never expected.

Simon wanted the power he saw in the apostles, but Peter reminded him that God’s gifts cannot be bought or controlled.

What a powerful reminder! Christianity isn’t about gaining power or recognition. It’s about knowing Jesus and becoming more like Him.

Real discipleship changes our hearts, our priorities, and the way we treat others.

Let’s seek Christ—not what He can give us.

Simon had believed, but he still had wrong ideas about God’s power. Peter didn’t ignore the problem—he confronted it.

That’s an important part of discipleship. Sometimes growing in Christ means allowing someone to lovingly correct us.

We won’t always get everything right. But when we are willing to listen, repent, and grow, God can continue shaping our lives.

Don’t be discouraged by what you still need to learn. Keep growing!

Acts 8 reminds us that the gospel can bring joy even in unexpected places. Philip went to Samaria and boldly shared Christ, and the people listened to the good news.

What would happen if we looked at our own community as a mission field? There are people around us who need hope, encouragement, and the truth of Jesus.

Come worship and grow with us as we learn more about sharing the gospel and being ready when God opens a door.

You don’t have to be a preacher to share Jesus. You simply need a willing heart.

Philip didn’t choose Samaria as his mission field—it was where God sent him. And what happened? Acts 8:8 says, “So there was much joy in that city.”

What began with persecution became an opportunity for the gospel. Philip could have focused on what he had lost, but instead, he focused on what God could do.

God can do the same through us. A difficult season, an unexpected move, a new workplace, or a simple conversation can become an opportunity to point someone toward Jesus.

Don’t overlook where God has placed you. He may have you there for a reason.
