Today we were reminded that Genesis 3 is more than the story of humanity’s fall—it is the story of God’s pursuit of sinners.
When Adam and Eve sinned, they tried to cover their shame with fig leaves. God, however, provided a covering through sacrifice. That pattern points directly to Jesus Christ and the forgiveness available through His sacrifice on the cross.
The question for each of us is simple: Will we hide behind our own “fig leaves” of excuses, pride, and self-righteousness, or will we accept the forgiveness God offers through Christ?
From the Garden to Calvary, God’s message remains the same: grace is greater than our shame.
