Matthew 5:13-20

What Jesus is saying in Matthew 5 is that if we, as His followers, are going to change the world, we have to be pure salt.
Our lives can’t be a mixture. We have to be pure and authentic.
An inconsistent lifestyle will keep people out of the church.
It keeps people from coming to know Christ.
So ask yourself, how authentic is your walk?

Matthew 4:1-11

Dessert has often been called a "seduction" or a "temptation".
Why? Because there’s something delicious in every bite.
Oscar Wilde said, "The only way to get rid of temptation, is to give in to it."

We laugh about temptation and most of us do give in at one time or another.
Sometimes it is only a 700 calorie piece of chocolate cake, which doesn’t leave too big of a consequence unless we give in to the temptation over and over again.
At other times the stakes are high and consequences are painful.
