Romans 5:1-11

Struggle as we may, we can never pull ourselves up to heaven by our own boot-straps. So God took the initiative on himself. At his own great expense, He did it for Paul, He did it for you and me, and for everyone who wants it. Such is grace, given freely to us all.

Even the faith to receive it isn’t something we have to squeeze out of ourselves, it’s God’s gift to us. This morning, I'd like us to take a look at the gifts that God has given us in our scripture today.

Acts 2:1-4

Throughout his sermon, Peter quoted prophecies from the Old Testament to prove his points. And had he wanted, Peter could have been up there all day… because there are over 300 prophecies in the Old Testament – and that’s not even mentioning all the imagery and object lessons God planted throughout the Law and the Prophets that told who Jesus was, and what He had come to do.

This morning, we have the opportunity to do what Peter called the others to do. Repent. Be saved. Be filled with the Holy Spirit. Be healed. Be transformed. Be set free from pain and addiction.
