Montville Reformed Church

Montville Reformed Church We are a Christ-centered church for all people. We are located in the heart of Montville. Please know our doors are always open for you.

We stand in the greater Reformed tradition and have been serving God and the community since 1756. While our historical roots are deep, we seek to make tradition come alive in worship, discipleship and fellowship. Most importantly, our prayer is that we are a people who are centered on faith in Jesus Christ, love for others, and a hope laid up in heaven. Perhaps you’ve recently moved or there is a

restlessness in your life and you are seeking something more. Donations can be given digitally at the link attached;

Imagine your body is like a tent that you use when you’re camping. Tents are useful, but they don’t last forever. They can get old, ripped, or worn out. ⛺️

Paul says that our bodies here on earth are like those tents. One day, when we die, God has something much better prepared for us a forever home with Him in heaven. It will be perfect and never wear out. 🌈 ⛅️

Sometimes life is hard. We get sick, sad, hurt, or tired. Paul says that while we are living in our “tent,” we may complain or wish things were better. But we don’t have to be afraid because God has promised us something wonderful in the future. 🙏

Right now, we can’t see heaven, but we trust God anyway. That’s what Paul means when he says, “We walk by faith, not by sight.” It means we believe God’s promises even when we can’t see them. 🥰

Paul also says that whether we are here on earth or someday in heaven, our goal should be to make God happy by how we live. We show love, obey God, help others, and follow Jesus.

One day, everyone who believes in Jesus will stand before Him. Not to find out if He loves us, He already does, but to talk about how we lived our lives and what we did with the time He gave us. ❤️

Today we pause to remember the courage, sacrifice, and selflessness of those who took part in the D-Day landings on June 6, 1944.

Many gave their lives so that future generations could live in freedom. Their bravery reminds us that freedom comes at a great cost, and that true sacrifice is an act of love. 🎖️🪖

As we honor those who served, we also give thanks to God for His faithfulness through times of war and peace. We pray for our veterans, military families, and all who continue every day to serve our nation.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” 📖 John 15:13

Let us never forget their sacrifice. May we live with gratitude. May we always seek the peace that comes through Christ.

When you walk through the cemetery honoring our loved ones, have you ever wondered who puts our beautiful American flags on the grave sites? 🤔

As we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, it’s beautiful to see history come alive through the next generation. 🇺🇸

This week, Montville students honored our veterans by replacing flags at local cemeteries, ours included!, as a small act with a powerful reminder: freedom is never forgotten when it is remembered and passed on with gratitude. ❤️🤍💙

“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” 📖 Psalm 90:12

We are thankful for the young people in our community who are learning the value of service, sacrifice, and remembrance. May we continue to raise children who honor the past while pointing toward hope for the future. ✨

Lazar Middle School students replace flags on Montville veterans graves for the 20th year, braving the rain to learn the stories of local Revolutionary heroes.

Before the BBQs, weekend trips, and fun… let’s remember why we celebrate Memorial Day. 🇺🇸

On this holiday, we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives for our freedom, a sacrifice that reminds us of the greatest love.❤️

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” 📖 John 15:13

As we gather with family, eat way too many hot dogs, and try not to burn the burgers, may we also pause with grateful hearts for those who served and sacrificed for our country.

From all of us at MRC, we hope your Memorial Day is filled with faith, family, gratitude, and maybe just the right amount of potato salad. 🇺🇸🙏

What a beautiful afternoon of laughter, fellowship, tea, and treats! ☕💐

Thank you to every lovely lady who came to our Ladies Tea. From the sweet conversations to the overflowing sandwiches, salads and desserts, it was a blessing to gather together! 🥪 🥗 🍪

“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.”📖 Proverbs 31:25

We are grateful for the joy, encouragement, and love shared around every table. There’s just something special about coming together to lift each other up, share life, and remind one another that we have the best extended family.

Thank you for making the day so special. We already can’t wait for the next one! 💕
