Montville Reformed Church

Montville Reformed Church We are a Christ-centered church for all people. We are located in the heart of Montville. Please know our doors are always open for you.

We stand in the greater Reformed tradition and have been serving God and the community since 1756. While our historical roots are deep, we seek to make tradition come alive in worship, discipleship and fellowship. Most importantly, our prayer is that we are a people who are centered on faith in Jesus Christ, love for others, and a hope laid up in heaven. Perhaps you’ve recently moved or there is a

restlessness in your life and you are seeking something more. Donations can be given digitally at the link attached;

“If a fellow believer hurts you, go and tell him—work it out between the two of you. If he listens, you’ve made a friend. If he won’t listen, take one or two others along so that the presence of witnesses will keep things honest, and try again. If he still won’t listen, tell the church. If he won’t listen to the church, you’ll have to start over from scratch, confront him with the need for repentance, and offer again God’s forgiving love. Take this most seriously: A yes on earth is yes in heaven; a no on earth is no in heaven. What you say to one another is eternal. I mean this. When two of you get together on anything at all on earth and make a prayer of it, my Father in heaven goes into action. And when two or three of you are together because of me, you can be sure that I’ll be there.” 🙏

270 Years of Faith, Family & Love ❤️

For 270 years, Montville Reformed Church has been more than just a building. It has been a home. A place where generations have gathered, prayed, worshiped, celebrated, cried, laughed, supported one another, and walked through life together.

Because that’s what family does.

Our church family is made up of people from different generations, different backgrounds, and different walks of life but we come together as one family in Christ. We celebrate each other’s joys, carry each other through difficult seasons, make memories together, and remind one another that no one has to walk this journey alone.

We aren’t celebrating just a number. We are celebrating every person who has been a part of this church family throughout the years. Every prayer that has been lifted. Every child who has grown up within these walls. Every wedding, baptism, funeral, Sunday morning, holiday, fellowship meal, and special moment that has become part of our story.

There is something incredibly special about knowing that we are standing where generations before us stood, worshiping the same God and continuing the same legacy.

270 years later, we are still here. Still growing. Still loving. Still serving. Still worshiping. Still family. ❤️

We hope you’ll join us as we celebrate this incredible milestone together. Come celebrate the past, embrace the present, and look forward with hope to all that God has in store for our us.

270 years rooted in faith, growing in Christ, and surrounded by love. We are so blessed to call this place and these people, our family. ⛪

It is with a very heavy heart but in the hope of the resurrection that we share with you that Al Van Riper entered God’s nearer presence today at 1:30am.

We will pass along any information we receive concerning arrangements once received.

Please continue to keep his family in prayer 🙏

We wanted to share an update on Al Van Riper. Recent tests have shown that the long-term damage is severe. At the recommendation of his doctors, the decision has been made to make Al’s comfort the priority of his care.

Al was taken off the ventilator around noon today and has been breathing on his own since then. For now, he will remain where he is receiving care. When the time is appropriate, he will be transferred to a hospice unit, where the focus will continue to be on his comfort and care.❤️

Please keep Al, Marcia, Al’s children, his sister, and all who love him in your prayers during this difficult time. We will share further information as we receive it. 🙏

As the seasons begin to change and we work our way into fall, it’s a wonderful time to slow down, breathe, and make a little more room for God in our busy days. ❤️

This September, we’re inviting you to take on a daily faith & self-care challenge! 🙏

Each day offers a simple way to care for your heart, strengthen your faith, show kindness, enjoy God’s creation, or simply take a moment to rest.

Some days may only take a few minutes, and that’s okay! Other days might give you a chance to slow down a little longer. There’s no pressure and no perfection required. Just small, intentional moments to pray, reflect, connect, laugh, serve, and give thanks.

As we transition from a crazy summer into a new season, remember that caring for your heart and your spirit matters, too. 🌻🍁

And don’t forget to mark September 26th on your calendar as we gather together to celebrate our 270th Anniversary! 🎉 Let’s make September a month of faith, gratitude, connection, and a little bit of fun along the way. ❤️

Jesus never said following Him would be easy. In fact, He pretty much warned us that there would be some heavy lifting involved. 😉 But He did promise us that a life lived for Him is a life that truly matters.

“Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.” 📖 Matthew 16:24

Taking up our cross doesn’t mean we have to have everything figured out. It means choosing Jesus, even on the hard days. Oh and they will be hard. It means loving when it’s difficult, forgiving when it hurts, serving when we’re tired, and trusting Him when we can’t see what’s ahead. 🌈🌦️

And let’s be honest… sometimes following Jesus means putting down our own plans, our own stubbornness, and that “but I really want it my way” attitude. 😬

Our crosses may look different, but we don’t have to carry them alone. We have Jesus beside us and a church family to walk with us. 🙏

Following Him may not always be the easiest road… but it is always worth it. ❤️

🙏 Please Keep Al Van Riper in Your Prayers 🙏

We are asking our church family to surround our dear brother Al Van Riper in prayer. Al was involved in a very serious motorcycle accident earlier this week and is currently in critical condition at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Pennsylvania, where he is receiving care for very serious injuries.

Please pray for Al, for his wife Ma**ca, his children, and his sister Melney as they face this incredibly difficult and uncertain time. May God surround them with His comfort, strength, peace, and hope.

We will share updates as we receive them.

Lord, hold Al and his family close. Give the doctors wisdom, give Al strength, and remind this family that they are surrounded by love and prayer. 🙏❤️
