Our latest Oblate Conference has been released.

Join our Fr. Damien, OSB as he conducts Conference Number 4 of 12 in our Oblate Formation Program.

This fourth conference in the formation series explores the essential structural supports of the Benedictine life: Stability and Obedience. While previous sessions focused on the interior landscape of the heart, this conference addresses the "how" of endurance and the "hard" side of the Rule that demands physical and volitional commitment.

A quiet morning of labor in the cloister. Our Prior began from scratch and finished the door of our chicken coop using various scraps of wood. Nice, quiet, solo work that allows for meditation on the life, death, and resurrection of Our Lord and Savior on this Holy Saturday. Ora et labora.

On another note, we suspect that Fr. Prior may have also missed his calling as an Amish shed builder!

Today we remember the sorrow of the Blessed Virgin Mary who witnessed the death of her son.

At our 6am Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, Fr Prior remembered and prayed for all mothers who grieve due to death of a child from whatever tragedy; sickness, accident, murder, su***de, and from the evils of abortion and euthanasia.

We especially remembered the souls of departed children Andrew, Samantha, Steven, Ricky, Matthew, Vuyo, unnamed girl, and unnamed girl.

May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
