AFRICA TEAM UPDATE!

The team began the day by enjoying a wonderful breakfast at our normal home base hotel in Manzini. We are spending our last night in Manzini here and it’s good to be in our home away from home. We broke up into two teams for the morning and went with The Home Health Care team. It’s a very emotional day, but also incredibly meaningful. We were able to visit, offer gifts, sing and pray over ten patients in their homes.

After a late lunch, we visited Haven of Hope. This unique home for girls who are the victims of abuse is an incredibly special place. The girls there are healing and finding Gods grace through the loving care of the amazing staff.

Tonight we are packing and getting our construction supplies in order. We will travel to the construction site in Khiza first thing in the morning. Thanks for your prayers, please keep them going!

AFRICA TEAM UPDATE!
Sundays are always busy on our trips to Eswatini. We have come to enjoy great friendships and Sundays feel like one part family reunion and one part worship and celebration. Today was a celebration of the 10th anniversary of partnership between the Soweto and Montrose Churches. The Soweto church family expressed gratitude to each of you and for all that God has accomplished in theses past ten years. The celebration was honored by having in attendance; members of the Royal family, the Deputy Director of the National Police, members of Parliament, and many other local leaders. We feel deeply appreciated and passed on your love and support for the ongoing work in Soto and all over Eswatini. The church also provided a wonderful meal for everyone in attendance. Here are a few photos highlights of the day.

Eswatini Update, 5/30: The team finished up travel a few hours ago, arriving in Johannesburg at sunrise local time. (South Africa is 9 hours ahead of Pacific Time!) After passing through customs, we headed to meet our driver Sambulo and begin the final leg of the journey. We arrived in Manzini around 3pm, checked into the hotel, and had dinner together. Tomorrow - Sunday - will be a big day as we celebrate 10 years of working with the wonderful church at Soweto! We will be praying for all of you as you gather to worship!

Eswatini Update: Day 1 - En Route (from Pastor Dave)

And so it begins… our team of 13 is preparing for departure. I will be posting daily with photos and updates. I’ll check in from London and again from Johannesburg and finally upon arrival in Manzini. Prayers appreciated!! Dean read us a beautiful prayer sent to him from one of you. Then we shared from today’s Frederick Buchner devotional.
