Jr. Highers, youth group this week is going to be a 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 than normal. We’ll meet up at the youth house at 6:30 like usual, but then we’re going to walk over to the church office, where the High School Group meets and have a Thanksgiving feast—sort of. See, they started this tradition a while back where they get together and eat foods that are in no way associated with a typical suburban Thanksgiving dinner. So, like, nachos, and cereal, pizza, frozen waffles, etc. Bring something you think would be fun to share and that you would actually want to eat as well.
Q: But John, High Schoolers are Scary!
Yes, but they promised to be nice, and you need to get to know them anyway, since you’ll be there next year!
Q: Will there be any “normal” food there?
Yes, it won’t just be poprocks and pretzels, and we will have actual food. If you’re worried about it, have a snack/light dinner first so you don’t starve.
Q: How are we getting to the office?
We are going to walk there around 7, and stay there until your parents pick you up around 8:30 at the office.
Q: Is the office we’re going to like The Office, like The Office from The Office?
No, Jim and Pam do not work for the church.
Q: What if I have never had exposure to sugar/caffeine/carbs/meat/sarcasm and I go crazy after trying all that stuff and become a deviant? Can my parents sue you?
Just no. Stop.
Q: Is Kevin going to bring his famous chili?
IT’S NOT THAT OFFICE!!
