Our Dear Friends,
On this solemn Patriot Day, as our nation pauses to remember the horror of September 11 and the grief that still echoes, we also mourn another grievous loss. Charlie Kirk - husband, father, leader.. has been taken from us by a senseless act of violence. It is a tragedy that calls us to both reflection and resolve.
Charlie’s life was marked by a fierce devotion to what he believed: faith, freedom, and the Gospel. He founded Turning Point USA and Turning Point Faith to awaken young hearts to the truths of Scripture, to call them back from the world’s ways, and to stand unashamed for biblical conviction.
In his own words:
“Legacy isn’t a natural byproduct of becoming old. It’s a healthy stewardship of today’s blessings, a cultivation of love and hope that you constantly pour into those around you.”
That legacy reminds me of another man whose life was poured out for truth: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Like Charlie, King was driven by conviction. Though their times and contexts were different, the call remains the same: to stand in love, in courage, in pursuit of righteousness, even when it costs us.
Dr. King said: “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”
Charlie understood this call and lived it daily. He reminded us that silence is complicity, and action is obedience. This is the spirit of courageous voices: a movement of hearts and minds willing to speak truth, defend freedom, and stand boldly in faith, even when the world is silent.
And in the words of Jonathan Edwards:
“Resolution One: I will live for God. Resolution Two: If no one else does, I still will.”
D. L. Moody once declared:
“The world has yet to see what God can do with a man fully consecrated to Him.”
And C.S. Lewis observed:
“Courage is not simply one of the virtues, but the form of every virtue at the testing point.”
Yet above them all stands the eternal voice of Christ Himself: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me will live, even though they die.” (John 11:25)
Charlie was a spiritual giant in his own right - a voice boldly proclaiming truth, courage, and conviction, just like a generation of courageous voices rising to defend faith and freedom. His life reminds us that voices such as his are rare, and that more must awaken to speak, act, and lead with the same fearless devotion.

On this Patriot Day, we remember not only those lost in the smoke and rubble of September 11, 2001, but also a son of the Kingdom whose passion was to remind America of her soul. Freedom is more than political liberty; it is spiritual. Without truth, without Christ, freedom becomes hollow.
So what do we do in the face of this grief?
We grieve, yes. We lament. We pray for Charlie’s family, for his beloved wife Erika, for their children, for all whose hearts are breaking.
But even in our sorrow, we must carry forward. Just as Jesus, though crucified, rose for the hope of the world, we are reminded that evil does not have the final word. In Him, suffering is met with redemption, death with life, and despair with hope.
Let us recommit ourselves today, on this Patriot Day - to truth. To love without compromise. To speaking, not from hatred, but from conviction. To defending the weak, protecting the rights of speech, faith, and conscience. Let us rise as Charlie’s example calls us: champions for the voiceless, hearts for the broken, and warriors of faith and freedom.
May God comfort the brokenhearted. May He use this tragedy to awaken many. And may we, in our own spheres, honor Charlie’s legacy by walking in courage, mercy, and truth - until Christ returns.
With prayer and hope,
Your Friends at Billy’s Home Place
