Due to some late-summer logistical complications, the church and community dinner that had been announced for August 12 is being postponed (and we do not have any other programming scheduled for August 12). We are looking into a possible alternate date, but wanted to post this info immediately so that people's late summer plans may be adjusted accordingly. If we are able to schedule a replacement date (which would be at least two weeks from now), we will announce that date, or any other updates, in the Montreat Memo which is issued on Tuesdays.

In the meantime, continued summertime blessings!

This week's (March 29) service at Montreat Presbyterian Church will include Vivian Hare's first published choral piece, "Blessed Is He," a Palm Sunday-themed anthem originally composed for children's choir, published by Choristers Guild in 2026 and a Featured Selection in their spring catalogue. "Blessed Is He" was also named an Editor's Choice selection by music distributor J.W. Pepper. Numerous church choirs across the country are including it in their worship this Sunday, including First Baptist Church, Pensacola, FL; Second Presbyterian Church, Bloomington, IL; First Methodist Church, Shreveport, LA; First Presbyterian Church, Salisbury, NC; First-Plymouth Congregational Church (UCC), Lincoln, NE; Tryon (NC) Presbyterian Church; Village Presbyterian Church, Prairie Village, KS, and many others. But only one will be led by the composer herself! We celebrate Vivian's milestone and give thanks to God for her inspiration.
