05/14/2025

It is with a heavy Heart that I inform Everyone that as of May 1, 2025, the Trinity Community Thrift Store is Permanently Closed.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank TUMC for all of the assistance and support they have given and shown me over the last 16 years: I would also like to thank ALL of the volunteers, friends and acquaintances that I have met, along with the MANY customers that we have interacted with: without them, there would NOT be a Thrift Store, and there would not be a reason for us to exist - These 16 years have been a REAL LIFE learning lesson, and I could NOT do this type of work without the TUMC, and everyone who makes that AMAZING place work the way it does.

I would PERSONALLY like to thank Kathy Alger Reed for her guidance, support, advice and for being the lady she is: The Lord has blessed her with skills that complement mine, and I have learned so much from her and others at Trinity: The Lord has blessed ME with the skills and strength to be able to serve in this capacity, and while the thrift store is no more, the MEMORIES and the experiences that I have dealt with will always be a part of me, and I THANK EVERYONE at TUMC for the chance to do something that I am, and have been proud of, and I believe I am a better person because of the Church and I hope to be able to continue to assist Trinity in some way!
It is said that "God Does NOT give you a challenge that you cannot handle" - We've Been through Hell AND High Water, and yet TUMC is like a beacon of LIGHT in the darkness, and a safe haven for many.

Thank You to Pastor Jay Voorhees and other pastors that served TUMC during the last 16 years: The Thrift Store was a Dream that started in 2009, and I will always remember why it began, and the important work it did! We have the ability to do many things, and I am amazed as to what we have been able to do: However, I am not sure what God's Plan is for the TUMC, but I will always remember the people I have met, and the friends I have made while being here.

May we each gain a blessing and also continue to do the great things that we have done, and will do in the present, and the future!

God Bless you ALL and THANK YOU!!

ANNOUNCEMENT (7/5/22@13:05 EDT):
BAGS: Due to the recent change in Vermont Law, Plastic Bags are No Longer widely Available. With the change in the law, you would most likely be given PAPER Bags, and while they have their use, and place, Plastic bags are more shopper friendly in my opinion. While the Store DOES and May continue to have Plastic Bags available, we are NOT sure how long this will STILL be the case. PLEASE BRING your CLOTH/Reusable Bag(s) with You – It is Appreciated! THANK YOU!

STORE WEBSITE RESTORED AFTER A SYSTEM CRASH (10/27/21@20:30 EDT)
==============================================
Cardinal Has been Restored and the Store Website has been returned to service. PLEASE be advised that the information there may NOT be as up to date as we would like, due to a system crash, that was restored last night: I then realized that the database file for the site was older than I thought, and I did NOT have a more current backup of the database, but I did backup the rest of the databases and files.

I HAVE LEARNED A LESSON about putting stuff off that I need to do, and to the best of our ability will make SURE the data and databases are backed up on a more consistent basis: More Information available below :)

God Bless You All :)
