Here is a brief summary of what we believe and how we operate. THE BIBLE
Our ultimate aim is to be the New Testament Church that Jesus Christ established, nothing more or less. We take the Bible for what it says as God’s Word (2 Timothy 3:16-17); it is our authority in all matters. We are students of science and history, but whenever the Bible contradicts popular ideas in these areas, we trust in
God’s consistent understanding rather than man’s, which continually changes. SALVATION
The need for salvation:
-Sin (disobedience) separates us from God—Isaiah 59:2
-All have sinned—Romans 3:23
-The penalty for sin is death—Romans 6:23
God’s part in salvation:
-Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness—Hebrews 9:22
-God loved mankind to offer His Son, Jesus—1 John 4:10
-Jesus died in our place—Hebrews 10:10
Man’s part (response) in salvation to receive eternal life:
-Believe in the Son of God (Jesus Christ)—John 3:16
-Confess Jesus as Lord—Romans 10:9-10
-Repent (turn) from former life and actions—Acts 2:38
-Be immersed (baptized) into Christ for forgiveness of sins—Acts 2:38; 1 Peter 3:21
-Follow Jesus Christ faithfully—Revelation 2:10
WORSHIP
Sunday worship at MCC is welcoming and laid-back. We are a small congregation, singing a mix of traditional and contemporary songs, and every week there is preaching, fellowship, the Lord’s Supper, and prayer (Acts 2:42). The primary reason for gathering each week is the same as it was in the New Testament, to share in the Lord’s Supper (Acts 20:7). Feel free to come and visit anytime! DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR, youth group studies for all ages take place Wednesday nights.
