Hello Friends,
Hope all is well with you and your family. We are getting ready for another season of camp for the Navajo children and youth. This is the third season for 5 Stones Camp and we are looking forward to having a great group of campers. Camp runs through the entire month of July, broken down into four sessions. We presently have six staff in place for this season, however we are still in need of four more college age christian men and women who would like ot come and serve this July. If you or someone you know would like to know more about this great opportunity to minister the love of God to the Navajo campers, please send me an email at [email protected].
Sincerely, Richard

Hello Everyone,
We just finished up the gift box distribution for 2022. We passed out 790 gift boxes to the Navajo Children in three locations on the Rez. One team in Kayenta, AZ., another in Tec Nos Pos, Utah, and another in Montezuma Creek UT., (and also some door to door.)
In addition to the boxes we also distributed 400 five pound bags of Blue Bird Flour, 450 two pound bags of pinto beans and 45 bags filled with personal hygiene products.
A special thanks to everyone who packed boxes, prayed or helped us financially. It takes all of us working together to make the ministry a success. I cannot begin to tell you what a blessing it was to all the families that received.
My brother Rock and I went to a family of six, (Mom, Dad and four children) living in a fifth wheel camper with a small room attached to the side. They were heating with a wood stove but had no running water or electricity. We took them groceries and gift boxes for the children. They would not let the kids open the gift boxes because they were going to wrap them and put them under the Christmas tree. This will be their Christmas this year. While visiting with them God gave us a great opportunity to share the love of Jesus, to pray for them and to invite them to come and worship with us at Montezuma Creek Baptist Church. We know we are going to see them there and have more opportunities to love on them and help them out of a difficult situation.
Please understand that you have a part in everything God is doing as we minister the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ to our friends on the Navajo Reservation.

Blessings, Richard and Michelle

Hello Friends, I have a challenge for you. We are trying to come up with a name for our camp. We have been praying for God to give us the name that really communicates God's love and also reflects the area in which we live.
Here is a little information about Southeastern Utah for you to think about. It is high desert on the western rim of the Colorado plateau. The property sits at 7000 ft. above sea level. There is a lot of farmland where thousands of acres of wheat is grown. On the surrounding mountains there are ranches where cowboy and cowgirls still graze and work cattle from horseback.
There is a view of the La Sal mountains to the North, the Abajo mountains to the west, the San Juans to the east. We are also surrounded by canyons; in fact Canyonlands National park is only 25 miles west. Other canyons with such names as Montezuma Canyon, Coal Bed Canyon, Devil's Canyon, East Canyon, Verger Canyon are also very close by. There is also a canyon called Cross Canyon about 35 miles to the south.
Other things to consider is what is on our property. The predominate trees are Juniper and Pinion Pine. Juniper trees are very similar to the cedar trees that grow in Kentucky. Pinion Pine are commonly used for Christmas trees. We also have several acres of Sagebrush and Rabbitbrush growing on the property.
So, we are looking for a name that communicates and connects this area with the love and grace of the Lord Jesus which was demonstrated by His death on the cross.
Romans 5:8 says: "But God demonstrates His own love toward us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
If you have any thoughts or suggestions for a camp name please let us know.
Blessings, Richard and Michelle

Hello Friends, I hope all is well and that you are getting some time this summer to enjoy friends and family.
Last week a team from Cornerstone Baptist Church in Hebron Kentucky came and held Vacation Bible School in Montezuma Creek, Utah. This is on the northern portion of the Navajo Rservation. They team did an incredible job connecting to the kids and sharing the love of Jesus. It is so refreshing for us to get back to what we love the most; sharing the hope of the gospel with children.
Tomorrow we will be in Montezuma Creek delivering drinking water and connecting to all those we have come to know and love. The ministry is growing and more people are being reached every week. Please pray for Michelle and I to have a heart of understanding as we minister the love of Jesus to everyone we meet.
One more thing. If anyone is interested in forming a team to come and do a construction project on the Reservation please let me know. The church in Montezuma Creek is in need of some major repair.
Don't forget, "This is the day the Lord has made I will rejoice and be glad in it."
Blessings, Richard and Michelle

Hello Friends,
Many of you know that we have been doing mission work in Zimbabwe for years. About a month ago our missionary friend Cosmas Zaranyiki informed us that the crops had failed and many of the Tonga people in Mola are going hungry. So FBC of Monticello partnered with us (Great Commission Fellowship Ministries) to send money to purchase mealie meal. We were able to buy 535, 10kg. bags. This was enough to feed approximately 250 families. Cosmas is keeping me posted on the situation. We may have to send more next month.

The work on the Navajo Reservation is going great, new doors of opportunity continue to open for us. I have been preaching and teaching at Montezuma Creek Baptist for the last three weeks and God is at work among the people. We are also making preparations for the team coming to help us with Vacation Bible School. This will be the first VBS since the pandemic and we are really looking forward to seeing the kids again. Please pray for God’s power and protection in all things.
Blessings, Richard and Michelle

Praise the Lord! Thank you so much for your prayers. God is faithful to all those who will call upon Him. We had a great day in Montezuma Creek Baptist yesterday. Several of the families we have been delivering water and firewood too came to church. Some had never been in a church service before. It was such a blessing to see the Holy Spirit working in their lives. Michelle and I are really looking forward to seeing them on Thursday and asking them what God is doing in their lives.

Hello Friends,
I have some great news to share. This coming Sunday (May 15th) the Montezuma Creek Baptist Church will open it’s doors for the first time in months. I am so excited because the Pastor called me to ask if I would preach. This will be a great opportunity to preach the hope of the glorious gospel to the Navajo people. Please pray for the power of the Holy Spirit to fall fresh on all of us as we lift up Jesus and proclaim His word.

The weather is warming up on the Navajo Rez and the need for firewood is decreasing but the need for drinking water is increasing. In John chapter four we read about the Samaritan women who met Jesus at Jacob's well. Jesus told her that the water from that well would leave her thirsty again. But if she would ask, He would give her living water flowing up into everlasting life. She asked, and received the living water of Jesus Himself. The world is a very thirsty place, not for physical water, but for the spiritual water that only Jesus can give. Please keep us in your prayers as we share the life giving water of Jesus with thirsty people.

Hello Friends,
Michelle and I just returned from another great day on the Rez. Many of our regulars came for drinking water, firewood and for prayer. As I write this post I am smiling as I think of all God did as we simply showed up.
One of the widows we had a bible study with two weeks ago told us that on Easter Sunday she stood up in church and professed that she was a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. If that were the only testimony we heard today it would be worth it all. But let me share just one more. A young couple we have been praying for since January stopped in again today just to thank us for the scripture we shared with them and the prayers for their sobriety. They have been clean for 13 weeks. Again, our God is great and greatly to be praised.
Blessings, Richard and Michelle
