Community, love, kindness, perseverance, and peace. That is the story of Chanukah! And we were lucky to have our own Assembly Member Paula Elaine Kay with us to light the last candle of the Menorah.

Assembly Member Kay shared her story of being a child raised in a community in which she was part of only 2 Jewish family's who lived in the community and how she was so happy when she moved to Sullivan County where all the community came together for everyone. And, she certainly lives with that purpose in mind attending so many events, meetings, and helping our community.

Thank to those who came out to this community Menorah lighting tonight in the bitter cold on the shortest day of the year. The light of daylight will grow from here on in, as we hope the light represented from the Menorah will light up our world with love, kindness, and peace.

Happy 8th night of Chanukah!

(Thanks Assembly Member Kay, Ciu ty Legislator Nadia Rajsz, Chief David Lindsay, and Al Dumas, Town Historian and Sullivan County Democratic Committee Vice Chair. )
