Defenders 9/11 ride today. 114 bikes. I was honored to be asked to do the prayer.
Dear heavenly Father, thank You for blessing us with this beautiful day.
We stand together to honor the
2,753 lives lost at the World Trade Center in New York
• 184 lives lost at the Pentagon
• 40 lives lost on United Flight 93 in Shanksville, Pennsylvania
when terrorists attacked our great country and shook the very ground beneath us.
We remember the brave emergency personnel and who ran toward danger, giving everything they had — even their lives — to save others. We remember the mothers, fathers, brothers, and sisters who unknowingly stepped into the path of danger and lost their lives — ordinary people caught in an extraordinary moment of tragedy.
We remember the brave souls aboard flight 93 that fought the terrorists and prevented more lives being lost.
We will never forget where we were on that heartbreaking day.
And today, we ride loudly, and proudly in their memory, thanking You, God, for giving us the strength, freedom, and unity to gather here.
Thank you to the Defenders and to all who joined this ride of remembrance.
Lord, cover us with Your protection as we ride, and protect our law enforcement officers as they provide safe passage for all participants and let our hearts reflect on Your goodness and Your guidance.
