A tornado ripped through Shawnee, OK on May 19, 2013. Many families lost everything they had. We felt an urgency to help the people of Shawnee. We immediately made plans to leave the next Sunday on May 26th. During that week, we were blessed with donations from the people and local businesses of Monticello, KY. Our plan was for our family to go do whatever we could to help. So, on Sunday after our

evening church service, with all of the donated items loaded in a U-Haul trailer, we left for Shawnee, OK. During the 3 days that we were in Shawnee, we saw a lot of devastation. We wanted to help more but, didn't have the finances or the time to do so. God has laid the desire in our hearts, to do a ministry that would do disaster relief missions in the United States. We are now in the beginning phases of getting that non-profit ministry started. Our vision is to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ, by traveling to disaster areas throughout the United States and providing 2 meals a day to victims of disasters via a mobile kitchen trailer, and to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to a world that needs Him. We want to help these families to heal after having been through such a disastrous time in their lives. We are also planning to have activities for the children to do, to keep their minds off what is happening around them. We want to teach adults and children that God is with them in times of trouble and that sometimes things happen in our lives to bring our attention to God, so we can turn to him for help and he can show us that he loves us. We want to share the message, that God loves us all, with those that are hurting.

Whatsoever things... Open your mind to the words of scripture. With so much chaos and depravity in the world it is easy to dwell on unpleasant things. But I tell you today that whatever you hold up in front of you is what you will become... Keep your focus on Jesus Christ.

Repent and believe the gospel! God created the cosmos and everything in it. He opened his mouth and said let there be... and it was. It has carried on for many, many years but, our time is coming to a close.

Jesus, the Christ, the anointed of God, stepped from eternity into time. He was born of the virgin Mary; immaculately conceived of the Holy Spirit. He lived his life perfectly before the Father. He was tempted by everything that you are tempted by but, he overcame every temptation. He lived without sin. He didn't do this by avoiding sinners... contrarily, he went to them. But, instead of being lowered to living sinfully, he lifted them up to where he was.

Jesus doesn't shove people down... he lifts them up. He will lift you too... because he loves you.

He was crucified on a Roman cross. Man killed the flesh of God. We destroyed him... we beat him... we ripped his beard from his face... smashed a crown of thorns into his brow mocking him as king... we nailed him to that cross. He died. There was a great earthquake as the world that he created with the breath of his mouth mourned the loss... The Christ was dead. He was buried. His friends mourned him, they had lost their leader, the one that they thought was going to deliver them was dead. they had believed in him, they had trusted him and now he was dead...

He died on a Friday, today we call it good Friday. But... early on the next Sunday morning; the first day of the week, He got up... The Christ was dead but then he got back up. He rose bodily from the grave. His flesh died... it became inanimate. there was no pulse, no respiration. He was stone dead. But God, who would not suffer his Holy one to see corruption raised his body. Breath entered again into the body, the heart began to pump again circulating the blood throughout his body and he lived again and lives forever. Jesus Christ died and then got back up!

He met with his followers and they were astonished at first but, then they began to remember what he had spoken to them; 'tear this temple down and in three days I will raise it up again..." etc. He stayed with them another 40 days and then he ascended into heaven...

Ten days later, his followers who had followed his instruction to go into Jerusalem and await the promise of the comforter, were in a room on an upper floor, praying. The Bible says that they were of one mind and one accord and that they heard a sound from heaven, like a rushing mighty wind and it filled the house where they were sitting and they were changed.

God sent his Holy Spirit into the world to live inside of our hearts. God wants to live in you.... It is not a ceremony that he wants. He isn't interested in choir robes and chandeliers... He wants you... He wants you...all of you. The Creator of all things is asking you to invite him to live in your hearts, to guide your lives, to be your King!

Repent (change the way that you think), believe this good news. Invite Jesus Christ to live in you, to guide you, to help you, to heal your mind, body and soul. Above all, understand that this is not a ceremony... it is a daily decision. Every day get up and follow Christ. Pray. Read the Holy Bible. Seek Him, Ask Him, Pursue Him. He will change your life and save your soul!

Be blessed today!

Thankful that God loved us so much that he took upon himself the form of man, bore our sins on a cross, died, was buried and was raised from the grave to everlasting life. Thankful that he sent his Holy Spirit into the world to live in our hearts and to give those who trust in him life eternal. Thankful for family and friends, food and fellowship. But more than all, I am thankful that Jesus Christ is alive in me! Happy Thanksgiving!

“Fear not, Abram. I am thy shield and thy exceeding great reward.”

God is your reward, not money, not nice houses or fancy cars. God is our reward... all else is vanity.

Be blessed with what you have today and rest in knowing where your treasure lies.

Pray one for another... lift up each other in prayer. Let's take our thoughts off of our own needs for a day and focus on the needs of others. God will teach us where and how we can do the most good, and we will see how we've been blessed in life!

Are you doing what you can with what you have been given to affect the world around you?

Apathy toward the needy is not a Kingdom quality. We must turn our eyes to the fields for they are ripe and ready to harvest.
