Dear Friends,

We're getting ready to start the Spring 2024 sessions of Griefshare 4.0 and we wanted to invite you to join us for the first time or to rejoin us for another 13 week journey together. Grief is a sacred journey but it doesn't have to be experienced alone. We would like to acknowledge your grief situation(s) respectfully while offering support, encouragement, scripture, and prayer. Below is information about our upcoming meetings. Please share with anyone that you think might find this group helpful, please register for our meetings, and reply if you have questions or would like to talk. We're praying for you. God's blessings. Look forward to seeing you soon in our Zoom meetings!

1) If you're new to our support meetings, we would like to send you a free GriefShare workbook. Please respond with your mailing address and we will send you the new GriefShare 4.0 workbook. The workbook is exceptional in design and in purpose. It is sure to be a trusted resource for this journey.

2) Meetings begin on Sunday, 18 February 2024, 0800 central standard time zone for 13 weeks. We understand that there may be times when you have to miss a meeting. We invite you to join us as often as you can do so. We want to support you.

3) Meeting Agenda includes Welcome/opening with prayer, Special expressions (poems, pictures, memories, songs etc.); video lesson, sharing circle, and closing with prayer. Our meetings last about 1.5 hours.

4) Meetings can be accessed via logging into Zoom. This option allows participants to see, hear, and speak. If you would like to actually view the video logging into Zoom is the best option. However, Zoom allows a dial in option. This option allows participants to hear and speak.

5) There is no fee, no obligation, and non-clinical/therapy support offered. We are trained Christian laypersons. The curriculum used is biblically focused.

6) Participation is at the level of comfort for each participant. We do not require you to appear on camera. Having you in the room on or off camera is sufficient. Ground rules for a safe, mutually respectful experience are included in the workbook and will be discussed in our first meeting.

Dearest Friends,

The journey of grief is sacred and unique to each person. However, it is not a journey that must be taken without prayerful support. The Montgomery First SDA church family offers support during difficult times of losing a loved one through prayer, fellowship, and seminars with the intent on helping to manage grief. Registration for GriefShare is now open. We invite you to join us or share this opportunity with someone to meet on Sunday mornings surrounded by support as our group navigates the journey of grief. The support shared through this forum allows for both dial in and log in options to Zoom meetings that are semi-structured, faith based, and educational.

Psalm 143:3 (NIV), "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

Dear Friend,

You are invited to a special presentation brought to you by the Montgomery First Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Grief Recovery Fellowship ministries on the topic of "The Story of Grief: A Story of Salvation!"

"Grief is a shadow hanging over humanity. The Bible states, "Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgement, " (Hebrews 9:27 NIV), only affirms the shadow is real! We know we are destined to die but remain woefully unprepared when it comes. The Bible has much to say about death and grief to better prepare us for this eventuality. During this presentation, we will view death through the lens of creation as well as through the perspective of two witnesses who died and lived again to tell about it. We will explore how Jesus defines death and why there is so much confusion about death. This presentation will unveil how the story of grief and the story of salvation are inseparable. Furthermore, we will learn the biblical purpose of grief." ~Elder Mapp
