We’re honored to welcome Kelley McRae this Sunday at Montgomery Episcopal Community Chapel.

Kelley serves as Missioner for Congregational Vitality in the Episcopal Diocese of Texas and is the founder of Song Rise Arts, offering trauma-informed songwriting for young adults impacted by foster care and CPS. A professional songwriter, she and her husband once toured the world before settling in Taylor, TX with their two daughters.

Join us this Sunday—we look forward to worshiping together.

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our dear community member, Manuel “Manny” Vazquez. Manny was part of our mission and our pantry family. His kindness and presence meant so much to those around him, and he will be deeply missed.

A memorial service will be held on March 28 as family and friends gather to honor and remember his life. Manny's family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Abundant Harvest food pantry.

Please keep his family and loved ones in your prayers during this time. 🤍

Welcome to Montgomery Episcopal Community Chapel - MECC 🤍

Built in the early 1960s at 177 Lake Estates by Mr. and Mrs. Gerloff, Chapel of the Lakes is a non-denominational place of worship and gathering in our community.

We offer two Sunday services:
• 8:00 AM – A rotating group of 3–4 Protestant pastors lead worship.
• 11:30 AM – A traditional Episcopalian Eucharist led by Rev. Debbie Daigle, followed by lunch, discussion, and fellowship.

Everyone is welcome at either service—just come and worship with us.

We also observe major religious holidays together, and the chapel is available to rent for weddings, memorial services, and christenings.

Overseen by a dedicated group of neighborhood volunteers, our chapel is lovingly maintained to remain a beautiful and welcoming space for all.

On this Transgender Day of Remembrance we are remembering the saints whose lives and work were dedicated to the full inclusion and flourishing of the trans community.

"The Rev. Iain Michael was an active leader in the TransEpiscopal community for many years. He was part of advocacy efforts leading up to and at the 2012 General Convention at which “gender identity and expression” were added to the Episcopal Church’s nondiscrimination canons for access to the ordination process and all levels of leadership in the Church."

To come into a community with an open heart is to recognize that God loves us Just as We Are. In every encounter, His grace is present, a place where acceptance, affirmation, encouragement, care, and shared growth remind us that no one walks alone in faith. This vision is at…

Today we celebrate St. Willibrord, Bishop and Missionary, often known as the Apostle to the Frisians! Born in England, Willibrord's dedication led him across the sea to bring the light of Christianity to Frisia (now the Netherlands and parts of Germany). He was consecrated as the first Archbishop of Utrecht and founded the famous Abbey of Echternach in Luxembourg, which remains a center of faith today.

O Lord our God, you call whom you will and send them where you choose: We thank you for sending your servant Willibrord to be an apostle to the Low Countries, to turn them from the worship of idols to serve you, the living God; and we entreat you to preserve us from the temptation to exchange the perfect freedom of your service for servitude to false gods and to idols of our own devising; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Today, we commemorate William Temple, Archbishop of Canterbury (1942–1944), a giant of 20th-century Christian thought & social justice. During the dark days of World War II, his leadership and prophetic voice championed the rights of the poor and marginalized, and he was a driving force behind key social and educational reforms.

O God of light and love, you illumined your Church through the witness of your servant William Temple: Inspire us, we pray, by his teaching and example, that we may rejoice with courage, confidence, and faith in the Word made flesh, and may be led to establish that city which has justice for its foundation and love for its law; through Jesus Christ, the light of the world, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen
