It's hard to believe that just one week ago we gathered in St. Louis, Missouri, for the Congress of Christian Education and kicked off Day One of the Youth Leaders Institute 2026.
One of the very first questions I asked everyone in the room was this:
"Are your students growing spiritually?"
Not, "How many students are attending?"
Not, "How many events are you hosting?"
But, "Are your students growing spiritually?"
As you continue serving as youth pastors, youth directors, youth leaders, and youth workers, I pray that this question remains at the forefront of your mind. Let it shape your planning, influence your conversations, and guide the way you measure success in ministry.
Programs have their place. Events have their value. But our ultimate assignment is to make disciples who know Christ, love Christ, and grow in their faith.
So one week later, I leave you with the same question:
Are your students growing spiritually?
May that question continue to challenge us, sharpen us, and keep us focused on the mission God has entrusted to us.
