Project Cemetery Project Cemetery goal is to improve and restore cemetaries in the west side of Montgomery. Our dead and departed deserve so much more.

Ridiculous is the only word to describe the deplorable conditions of many of the West Side Cemeteries. Yes, it is deplorable and a shame that the place of final rest of family members, friends and loved ones have been allowed to reach such a low and despicable state. The graves of our departed loved ones deserve so much more attention and care than what is currently being provided. There are broke

n vaults visible from the streets; some vaults are virtually sitting on top of the ground, while others are lingering precariously on sliding slopes with the potential of floating off their base. Several of these graves are open and filled with water and others have broken lids filled with dirt. Grass in these cemeteries goes uncut for long periods of time; paper and debris and other thrash is strewn throughout the grounds.
