Tuesday was another incredible day at the Nehemiah Center! We welcomed nearly 300 participants to our Esperanza–HOPE Fiesta (Health Opportunities for People through Education).

Thanks to our amazing community partners, 28 health vendors provided valuable services and resources. Baptist Health, Health Services Inc., and Image Clear Ultrasound offered on-site dental, diabetes, blood pressure, and cholesterol screenings with referrals available for those needing continued care.

We were also honored to host expert panel discussions, including mental health professionals from UAB.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this impactful and inspiring day possible—we are so grateful for a community that shows up and cares so well!

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been sharing ways the Lord worked through our ministry in 2025. We’re so grateful for how He continues to provide through the generosity and gifts of others.

One special example is highlighted in the video below. Charlotte Bryant lovingly hand-knit 400 hats that helped keep so many warm this winter! Charlotte, thank you for sharing your time, talent, and treasure with our community.

If you feel led to make an impact here in Montgomery, we encourage you to pray and ask the Lord how He might be calling you to come alongside us.

Join us in thanking Charlotte for being such a blessing!

Our City, Our Community, Our Families--Together We Can Make a Difference

God has been so good through our Caring Center Ministry over the last year.

Did you know..
--We distributed over 102 tons of donated clothing to the community (204,000lbs) to 6,425 households. We estimate just the economic impact to our neighbors at over $918,000.
--We distributed 60 tons of donated food to 3,193 households. That represents approximately 80,060 large meal equivalents worth over $276,208.
--We provided additional financial assistance to 244 households totaling over $73,500
--More than 500 people attended our Caring Center Bible study during 2025
--We made 3675 Gospel presentations

These are a few of the physical, tangible representations of the constant acts of love that accompany our outreach and support for our city, community, and families. You are part of this. Our volunteers gave over 5700 hours of their time to the Caring Center ministry. FBC Montgomery and community partners gave over 15,00 lbs of food in our November food drive. God's work happens with God's people. You can be a part of this ministry by praying, giving, and volunteering.

There are approximately 21,000 inmates in ADOC custody
300-400 inmates are admitted each month--we have a constantly changing population to serve
300--400 are released from custody each month--we need to help prepare them for reentry into society to reduce recidivism

Our City, Our Communities, Our Families--Together We Are Making A Difference

Did you know? In 2025, we served over 60 families and averaged 65 children daily in our daycare, The Children's Learning Center (CLC). The CLC offers affordable childcare to families with children from 6 weeks to 5yrs, year-round from 7:30 to 5:00. We operate as a faith-based DHR-exempt facility. Our goal is to show the love of Christ to each child and each family. We incorporate Bible focused lessons twice daily into our curriculum, where children memorize scripture, sing, and role-play Bible stories. This year, we have added a weekly chapel service in the sanctuary of FBC Montgomery. We also offer financial assistance to families with a demonstrated need, through the generosity of many wonderful donors.

In addition to the high-quality childcare we offer, we employ 15 workers and made over $500,000 in economic impact to the Montgomery area. Join us in our mission to minister to families in name of Jesus through prayer, giving, and volunteering.

Our City, Our Communities, Our Families--Together We Are Making A Difference

2026 was wonderful year in our Nehemiah Center ministry. Here are a few highlights and maybe a few things you didn't know we do at the Nehemiah Center.

We teach ESL in Chisolm! And we provide Mentoring for Moms every Wednesday. There is a delicious meal provided by various Bible Fellowship Classes and WMU groups. Then our English speaking Moms have a devotional time or a mentoring class. Those who need more study in English have an ESL class. We average 20 people every week between these two classes.

Did you know we conduct an after school program Monday through Thursday during the school year? Last year we had 38 kids enrolled who can play, learn, receive Bible teaching, and develop lasting relationships with Christian mentors.

And we had a summer program Monday through Friday from 9am to 3pm while children are out of school. We enrolled 58 children in 2025. We provided a safe, nurturing environment for kids to experience the joys of summer, including Farm Week at Dreamfield Farms. We also provided spiritual growth through the daily Bible Buddies time.

We also offered free Adult Education programs to help with attaining a GED, resume writing, and college test prep. We also facilitated six students enrolled in online public school education. Our current enrollment in our education programs is 15.

2026 could be your year to serve with our Nehemiah Program!

Our City, Our Community, Our Families--Together we are making a difference.

For the next few weeks, we will highlight the impacts that we are making together through FBC Community Ministries. You are making a difference through your time and donations!

In 2025, our ministry to internationals reached over 284 students from 29 different countries who reside in Montgomery. We shared the gospel, learned English, and enjoyed communal hospitality. Additionally, FBC Montgomery hosted an International Night during a Wednesday night congregational meal. Our English as a Second Language and Conversational English students are making amazing progress. We have also enjoyed wonderful conversations in our Americana Cafe, where students can practice English in a comfortable and encouraging setting.

But none of this happens without God's people doing His work. 52 volunteers make it possible to witness to the world right here in our city. We have recently seen two professions of faith!

Additionally, we are thankful for our partnership with the Montgomery Baptist Association in conducting these ministries, and we look forward to welcoming new volunteers and students in 2026 as we reach the nations! There is a place for you in FBC Community Ministries.
