Who doesn't like a good grilled hot dog? That's what's for dinner!

This Sunday evening at 6:00p, we are having an open forum Meet & Greet with our students, parents, and our student leaders Casey and Cassie Dove. We are going to be talking about how this ministry is going to work, including the schedule, camps, mission trips, and more. As in any relationship, communication is key to making anything work. This is our goal!

If your child is in grades 6-12, we would like to invite you to come and take part in this Meet and Greet and be a part of this ministry. If you don't have a child, but would be interested in serving with our student ministry, you are also invited to come as well.

Please let us know if you will be coming by either responding to this message, sending me an IM, or text me with how many will be coming with you.

Good morning. Wanted to give a heads up to our online campus. We will be receiving communion this morning at the end of the service. As part of the body of Christ at Dacus, I encourage you to participate with us as we worship God through communion.

God's Word is truth, plain and simple. We can have perfect confidence in the fact that His words are accurate, true and without error. When followed, they guide us without fail in the paths that we need to walk.
We can be destroyed by lack of the knowledge of God, but we will be blessed if we hear and keep the Word of God. And the knowledge is not just for us. We are to be ready to answer others who ask us.
Tomorrow we wrap up the Full Armor of God series with The Sword of the Spirit - which is the Word of God.

I pray this series has equipped your heart on how we can be victorious in the battles that we face every day!

Tomorrow we have a quick business meeting immediately following the service that will only take a few minutes. This meeting will not be part of our livestream.

Sure missed everyone last weekend as I served at Tres Dias. SO glad to be back as we continue this Full Armor of God series.

We are nearing the end of our Armor of God series and today we land on the Helmet of Salvation.
When it comes to helmets, they play a major role in protecting us while we do all kinds of things. Ang and I had wild hair when our kids moved out of the house, and we went and bought us a Harley. We love riding, but just don’t have the time to ride as much as we’d like.
In almost all sport activities, there is a helmet involved to reduce the risk of serious head injury. When we sustain head injuries, it can have a devastating affect on the entire body. You may have known someone that is still with us today because of a helmet, or someone who isn’t due to the absence of a helmet.

Come and join us tomorrow as we dig into the Helmet of Salvation art of the Full Armor of God.

Tomorrow, we continue our journey through the Full Armor of God series, talking about the Shield of Faith.

Faith gives us access to grace, which is where everything that God has done for you, He has stored here. Everything God is going to do for you, He’s already done. You just have to gain access. We find here in the scriptures, our pass to access this grace, is our faith.
Work proves that you have faith. Work is an action. If we are going to exhibit our faith, our actions are going to show that. Faith cannot be real if it is limited to our 5 senses. Because real faith accesses the invisible, not the things we can see, touch, taste, smell, and hear.

Last week we began a series on this full armor of God and looked into the first article of the armor, the Belt of Truth. Today we are going to move on to the next article and that is the Breastplate of Righteousness.
If you look up the definition of Righteousness, it means “the quality of being morally right or justifiable.”
One biblical definition says righteousness is “the application of truth in the life of a believer.” We just spoke about truth last weekend.
Out here in the country where we all live, you look on the bank of some of these ponds and you see a Jon boat. Far more likely than not, the boat that is turned upside down, for obvious reasons of not collecting water when it rains.
If you been around pond fishing for very long, you know that when you flip that boat right side up, more than likely, you will meet something that’s alive. Something that you have woke up from a nap. Something that has being lying dormant until revealed.
Looking at this scenario, we do things to prevent other things from happening. Things that we see as destructive to our belongings. If water fills the boat, it will promote deterioration of structure. If you look the caulk that is in the seams of the Jon boat, the caulking is on all of the seams of the different parts of the boat. If you’ll notice, the vast majority of the caulk is on the inside of the boat.

If it were on the outside, it would be exposed to the water full time. It would be exposed to that which it is designed to keep out. But how many know that water is relentless when it has completely covered everything? It would eventually start breaking down the caulk and its integrity would soon be compromised. Resulting in a leak.
Even under the least of pressure, and just simply resting on something, water is relentless. Ever had food stick to the pan that you cook something in? Do you scrub and scrub, or do you put water in it and let it soak overnight and deal with it in the morning? This method takes a lot less effort and it works great!
Living in sin is no different. If we chose to willingly expose ourselves to it, even though we put things in place to protect it from taking over our lives, we will begin to breakdown.

This Sunday we will begin a series on The Full Armor of God. If there was ever a day that we needed to properly equipped to face the world and make a stand for Christ, it's today. If we are not fully and properly prepared, we will certainly face defeat. An apple a day may keep the doctor away, but a simple prayer a day won't keep the devil away! God is wanting to do things in this world and some of those require our participation. We have to DO something!

Ephesians 6:10-13 says:
10 Finally, be strengthened by the Lord and by his vast strength.
11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the schemes of the devil.
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against evil, spiritual forces in the heavens.
13 For this reason take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having prepared everything, to take your stand.
Verse 14 notes the first article of the suit of armor....
14 Stand, therefore, with truth like a belt around your waist.

Without truth, we have nothing. There is no such thing as a partial truth. It's either the truth, or it is not!

In John 14:6, Jesus said this.... “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through me.”

People say telling the truth doesn't cost you anything, so you should always do it. I will agree 100%..... with the last part of that. The fact that is doesn't cost you anything is well..... not the truth at all. Being untruthful can have set off a chain of events that can be catastrophic to people.
As we are getting into election season, in the political arena, things are out of hand with lies. That's because there's an agenda involved. Join us this morning as we look at what the bible says telling the truth.
