Whether you’re deeply rooted in your faith, simply curious or wrestling with big questions, Everything In Between offers a welcoming place to explore faith, doubt and all the moments in between.

Your generosity is making a difference both close to home and around the world! The story of connectional giving in the Alabama-West Florida Conference is a story of faithful people coming together to do more than any of us could do alone.

In 2025, AWF churches and individuals gave nearly $138,000 through The Advance, supporting disaster response, missionaries, hunger relief, education, community development and other vital ministries around the world. At the same time, more than $640,000 was invested back into ministries and people right here in Alabama-West Florida through disaster recovery, scholarships, local church grants and community ministries.

As Bishop Jonathan Holston reminds us, when we give faithfully, we join together “to extend the love of Christ in ways no congregation could accomplish alone.”

Thank you, Alabama-West Florida Conference, for your extraordinary generosity! Every gift is part of a much bigger story, a connectional church sharing Christ’s love, transforming communities and making an impact near and far. ❤️

The AWF Conference celebrates an important step forward! At the 2026 Annual Conference, members unanimously adopted a new Parental Leave Policy designed to better care for clergy and their families.

Effective July 1, the policy provides appointed clergy with up to 13 weeks of paid parental leave following the birth, placement or adoption of a child, while protecting pension, health benefits and appointment status. It also provides support for congregations needing assistance with pastoral coverage and makes intentional space for families experiencing pregnancy or infant loss.

Developed through the leadership of the Commission on the Status and Role of Women (COSROW), this policy reflects the kind of church we strive to be, one that cares for one another, makes room for families and helps every person flourish.

We are grateful for this meaningful step toward supporting those who serve our churches and communities.

We join so many around the world in grieving the loss of a true national treasure, Dolly Parton. Our prayers are with her family, friends and the countless people whose lives were touched by her music, generosity, faith and unmistakable spirit.

Rev. Dave “Doc” Kirby, a retired Alabama-West Florida Conference pastor, had the memorable opportunity to meet Dolly in 1978 when she performed at Troy State University, now Troy University.

While the world will remember Dolly for her extraordinary talent and iconic career, we are especially grateful for the faith that grounded her life and for the kindness, generosity and love she so freely shared with others. Her legacy reminds us of the difference one life can make when gifts are shared generously and people are treated with compassion.

We give thanks for the life of Dolly Parton and the joy she brought to generations. May she rest in peace.

The AWF United Women in Faith has opened registration for their annual Spiritual Enrichment Retreat at Blue Lake Camp in Andalusia. The featured speaker is Bria Rochelle Stephens, M.Div from Huntingdon College. This event is 24 hours on Friday, October 9, 2026- Saturday, October 10, 2026.

They will have workshops, worship time and fellowship. You do not need to be an active member of United Women in Faith or a member of the United Methodist Church to participate.
