The AFFI Summer Convention, in Charlotte NC, included the Joint Men’s Ministry – Usher Board Breakfast in the early morning of Wednesday, August 5th. Elder Richard Lawrence – Pastoral Assistant Greater Morning Star Apostolic Ministries, Largo MD, and former AFFI Men's Ministry Auxiliary (MM) President for 13 years, served as the keynote speaker. His message “Rooted by the River – Set Out and Planted” from Psalms 1:1-6 encouraged the hearers to be planted by the Lord in order to bring forth fruit. During the breakfast, AFFI MM was able to recognize Deacon Anthony Barnes, Elders Carles Walker, Robert Fleming and Paul Morris. The AFFI MM provided a Ministry Moment, during the August 5th Men’s Day evening service, to highlight the full-slate of AFFI MM officers; recent accomplishments; planned activities; and recognition of outstanding support and leadership. The Men’s Day evening service keynote speaker – Bishop Reddgo Long Sr. was recognized for his support and encouragement to AFFI MM efforts, particularly, his humility, practicality, and his guidance to be inclusive across AFFI Episcopal Districts and auxiliaries/departments. Similarly, AFFI MM Advisor – Bishop Timothy Johnson was recognized for his outstanding leadership and oversight providing wise counsel and sounding-board to ensure alignment and coordination of AFFI MM activities.
