SPITFIRE
comes from the acronym Sunrise Prayer Impact Team with the FIRE of the Holy Ghost.
The concept of using the name Spitfire comes from WWII.
Spitfire was a fighter aircraft which many say saved Great Britain from being overtaken.
Take prayer, one of the most effect tools we have, use it in the timeframe the scripture outlines and join together in ‘one accord’. Can you even imagine what would happen?
Can we say, the Third great awakening!!
In 2007, Missionary Steven WIlloughby taught a lesson at CLC in Stockton, CA on ‘early morning prayer’. That message is still available on YouTube. In his message, he challenged the church to join together in early morning prayer to bring about ‘the Lord’s Will on earth as it is in heaven’. Brother Willoughby made a petition for 1000 Holy Ghost filled believers to join in early morning prayer.
In 2017, the Lord challenged me to daily daybreak prayer and it has changed my life. The Lord has given the church a ‘wide-open’ door. The time in now!
The OBJECTIVE of SPITFIRE.....
1. To join together those who have a personal commitment to ‘daybreak’ prayer.
2. Understanding that ‘daybreak’ prayer occurs at different times depending upon your location, time of year and time zone.
3. The Purpose of SPITFIRE is to breakthrough the adversary’s strongholds.
4. Breakthrough prayer can be for a number of ministries; ethic outreach, revival meetings, new church plants, conference events, open new territories, etc.
5. Targeted event prayer should be for 21 days prior to an event and thru the course of the event.
6. Ministry prayer should be a minimum of 30 days or longer, if the intercessor still has a burden.
Points of NOTE......
1. Cultivate your own personal daybreak prayer discipline.
Be aware there will be three things that will oppose you; complacency, comfort and convenience. Conquer the C’s.
2. Encourage your church members to participate in daybreak prayer.
Schedule a ‘Prime Time’ Sunday when church members gather at daybreak to pray. A suggested prayer outline is a ‘Binding and Loosing’ chart which details specific issues to bind and specific virtues to loose.
3. Understand when is ‘Prime Time’ aka daybreak. There is a Time and Date chart available on the internet which will show the daybreak timeframe for your area. Because daybreak is a ‘moving target’, you’ll need to chart your location and date. The key metrics are nautical twilight and civil twilight both which precede sunrise. Nautical twilight begins when the sunlight first breaks the horizon.
4. In the book of Daniel chapter 10, it tells us that twenty-one days after Daniel made his petition unto the Lord, his answer came. If you have an upcoming event, launch SPITFIRE twenty-one (21) days ahead and see what the Lord will do.
5. A bit of History..... In the early 1800’s, at the time of the Second great awakening, there was an evangelist named Charles Finney who preached many revival meetings. A little know fact was that Daniel Nash was sent ahead a month prior to pray for a breakthrough.
