A closed and ignored Bible in the house doesn’t help much, does it?

It may be on a shelf, on a nightstand, in an app, or somewhere in the truck. But if we never open it, read it, talk about it, and obey it, then it’s not shaping us like God intended.

Let's change that tonight. Read one short passage. Ask one question: “What is God showing us?”

Then ask: “What do we need to do about it?”

That’s it. That’s a simple start. Your home needs light. Your marriage needs light. Your children need light. Your decisions, habits, words, attitudes, screens, schedules, and private battles need light.

Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.”

Open the Word. Take a step. Let Jesus lead your home.

Your home needs prayer! Not a perfect prayer, just a simple, heartfelt, honest prayer.

A lot of people freeze up when it comes to praying out loud at home. They think it has to sound polished, long, or super spiritual. It doesn’t!

A short pr ayer is better than no prayer. A real prayer is better than a polished performance.

Start simple: “Father, help us today. Jesus, lead our home. Holy Spirit, give us wisdom and peace. Amen.”

Tonight, gather your family for 2 or 3 minutes. Read one verse. Ask one simple question: “What do we need to ask God for today?”

Then pray one short prayer together. Awkward obedience is still obedience. Start small. Stay steady. Let Jesus lead your home one prayer at a time.

Your family doesn’t need perfect leadership. They need a faithful first step.

Most Christian men know that they're called to spiritually lead their family and home, but they don’t know where to start. So they wait.

Waiting on the perfect plan. Waiting to know more Bible. Waiting until life slows down. Waiting until it feels less awkward.

Listen, men, your family doesn’t need a theologian or Bible scholar. They just need you to be willing to take one humble step toward Jesus.

Start here: Have one honest conversation. Keep it short. Keep it humble. Keep it real. Say something like, “I want us to follow Jesus better together, and I’m asking Him to help me lead better.”

Then pray one short prayer together: “Jesus, help our home follow You.”

Don’t wait for perfect. Start with faithful.

Who Are You Really Fighting?

It feels like we’re always fighting... with our spouse, our kids, even our church. But Ephesians 6:12 says our real battle isn’t against flesh and blood. Your wife isn't the enemy. Your kids aren't the enemy. Your church isn't the enemy.

There’s a real spiritual enemy who wants your home divided and defeated. Jesus calls you to stand in His strength and fight for your family, not against them.

Before You Lead, Will You Bow?

Joshua met a Man with a drawn sword outside Jericho.
When he realized who he was standing in front of, he fell on his face and said, “What do You want Your servant to do?” (Joshua 5:14)

Real leadership in your home doesn’t start with you being the boss. It starts with you bowing to Jesus as Lord and Captain.

Do You See the Real Battle for Your Family?

Husbands, dads, grandpas, uncles, brothers... can we be honest for a minute?

Your family is in a real-life-threatening battle. Not just with schedules and bills. Not just with sports and school and stress. Your wife is being discipled by something. Your kids are being discipled by something. Your habits, phone, money, temper, and priorities are all leading your home somewhere.

Joshua 5:13 says Joshua looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a sword in his hand. God was pulling back the curtain to show him: “This battle is bigger than you, and you’re not the commander here.”

Same for us. This is a spiritual war. Your wife is not the enemy. Your children are not the enemy. The enemy would love nothing more than for men to stay distracted, passive, and spiritually half‑asleep while he goes after the people they love.

Your family doesn’t need you to be the hero. They need you under the command of Jesus, the true Captain.

Hey Everybody... Join us tonight at 6:30 PM for a special Wednesday Night Worship Service at Hope in Christ Fellowship.

Adults and Unfinished Youth will gather together in the Worship Center for a combined night of worship, encouragement, and prayer as we continue our June On Ramp to Youth Camp month.

Faith Factory Children will meet as usual, so bring the whole family.

We’re believing God for a meaningful night together as we worship Jesus, open His Word, and encourage one another in faith and prayer.

How Do I Live Like a Loved Son or Daughter?

A lot of people say, “I know I’m a child of God,” but live most days like spiritual orphans.

Orphans feel like they have to fend for themselves, protect themselves, and prove themselves. Sons and daughters know they’re loved, covered, and sent.

Romans 8:15 says, “Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, ‘Abba, Father.’” (NLT)

In Christ, you're adopted, not auditioning.
You don’t obey to earn a place in the family.
You obey because you already have one.

You don’t have to let your past, your parents, or your worst day
tell you who you are anymore. Your identity is anchored in what Jesus has done and what your Father says about you.

Can I Really Trust God as Father When Life Hurts?

It’s easy to say “God is a good, good Father” when life is running smoothly. But it’s a lot harder when: The diagnosis is bad, the job falls through, the marriage is heavy, the kids are breaking your heart.

Underneath all the other questions is this one: “Can I still trust God as Father when life hurts this much?”

Romans 8:32 says, “Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?”

The cross is God’s once‑for‑all proof that your Heavenly Father is for you, not against you, even when you don’t understand what He’s doing.

If you’re carrying pain, confusion, or disappointment and still trying to trust God, today’s devo is for you.
