OUR DOCTRIAL STATEMENT
(What we believe)

1. We believe that love one for another as Jesus loves the believer manifests our discipleship, proves our love for God and symbolizes our authority as New Testament churches. Love is therefore the great commandment of the LORD Je

sus Christ upon which all others are dependent (Matt. 22:35-40; John 13:34, 35; John 15:12; 1 John 4:7-21; 1 John 5:1-3; Rev. 2:4, 5).

2. We believe in the infallible, verbal inspiration of the whole Bible and that the Bible is the all-sufficient rule of faith and practice (Psalm 119:160; 2 Tim. 3:16, 17).

3. We believe in the personal triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, equal in divine perfection (Matt. 28:19).

4. We believe that Satan is a fallen angel, the archenemy of God and man, the unholy god of this world, and that his destiny is the eternal lake of fire (Isa. 14:12-15; Ezek. 28:11-19; Matt. 25:41; 2 Cor. 4:4; Eph. 6:10-17; Rev. 20:10).

6. We believe in the virgin birth and sinless humanity of Jesus Christ (Matt. 1:18-20; 2 Cor. 5:21; 1 Peter 2:22).

7. We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ (John 10:30; John 1:1, 14; 2 Cor. 5:19).

8. We believe the Holy Spirit is the divine Administrator for Jesus Christ in His churches (Luke 24:49; John 14:16, 17; Acts 1:4, 5, 8; Acts 2:1-4).

9. We believe that miraculous spiritual manifestation gifts were done away when the Bible was completed. Faith, Hope and Love are the vital abiding Spiritual Gifts (1 Cor. chapters 12-14).

10. We believe that Man was created in the image of God and lived in innocency until he fell by voluntary transgression from his sinless state, the result being that all mankind are sinners (Gen. 1:26; Gen. 3:6-24; Rom. 5:12, 19).

11. We believe that the suffering and death of Jesus Christ was substitutionary for all mankind and is efficacious only to those who believe (Isa. 53:6; Heb. 2:9; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 Peter 3:18; 2 Peter 3:9; 1 John 2:2).

12. We believe in the bodily resurrection and ascension of Christ and the bodily resurrection of His saints (Matt. 28:1-7; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Cor. 15:42-58; 1 Thess. 4:13-18).

13. We believe in the premillennial, personal, bodily return of Christ as the crowning event of the Gentile age. This event will include the resurrection of the righteous to eternal heaven, and the Millennium will be followed by the resurrection of the unrighteous unto eternal punishment in the lake of fire and that the righteous shall enter into the heaven age (John 14:1-6; 1 Thess. 4:13-18; 2 Thess. 2:8; Rev. 19; Rev. 20:4-6; Rev. 20:11-15; Rev. 21:8).

14. We believe that the depraved sinner is saved wholly by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, and the requisites to regeneration are repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Luke 13:3-5; John 3:16-18; Acts 20:21; Rom. 6:23; Eph. 2:8, 9), and that the Holy Spirit convicts sinners, regenerates, seals, secures, and indwells every believer (John 3:6; John 16:8, 9; Rom. 8:9-11; 1 Cor. 6:19, 20; Eph. 4:30; Titus 3:5).

15. We believe that all who trust Jesus Christ for salvation are eternally secure in Him and shall not perish (John 3:36; John 5:24; John 10:27-30; Rom. 8:35-39; Heb. 10:39; 1 Peter 1:5).

16. We believe that God deals with believers as His children, that He chastises the disobedient, and that He rewards the obedient (Matt. 16:27; Matt. 25:14-23; John 1:12; Heb. 12:5-11; 2 John 8; Rev. 22:12).

17. We believe that Jesus Christ established His church during His ministry on earth and that it is always a local, visible assembly of scripturally baptized believers in covenant relationship to carry out the Commission of the Lord Jesus Christ, and each church is an independent, self-governing body, and no other ecclesiastical body may exercise authority over it. We believe that Jesus Christ gave the Great Commission to the New Testament churches only, and that He promised the perpetuity of His churches (Matt. 4:18-22; Matt. 16:18; Matt. 28:19, 20; Mark 1:14-20; John 1:35-51; Eph. 3:21).

18. We believe that there are two pictorial ordinances in the Lord's churches: Baptism and the Lord's Supper. Scriptural baptism is the immersion of penitent believers in water, administered by the authority of a New Testament church in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Lord's Supper is a memorial ordinance, restricted to the members of the church observing the ordinance (Matt. 28:19, 20; Acts 8:12, 38; Rom. 6:4; 1 Cor. 5:11-13; 1 Cor. 11:1, 2, 17-20, 26).

19. We believe that there are two divinely appointed offices in a church, pastors and deacons, to be filled by men whose qualifications are set forth in Titus and 1 Timothy.

20. We believe that all associations, fellowships, and committees are, and properly should be, servants of, and under control of the churches (Matt. 20:25-28).

21. We believe in freedom of worship without interference from the government and affirm our belief in civil obedience, unless the laws and regulations of civil government run contrary to the Holy Scriptures (Rom. 13:1-7; 1 Peter 2:13-15).

“YOU LITTLE DEVIL”
By Glen Davenport

I don’t remember when I heard the expression “you little devil” for the first time, but it has been around for a while. To some people, it is an oft used verbalization of an aggravating thing; perhaps brought on by the action of a child or a pet. But my story today is the ‘real McCoy’. It’s about a serpent that would not go away.
Some men were working around the house. The times were quiet, the day was long and there appeared a serpent at my back door. When I opened the door to exit the house, low, there was the serpent stretching from one side of the door to the other. Ooo, look out, came flying from my mouth. I was quite taken by his presence. I slammed the door in his face, making a loud noise that should have scared him away. I waited; giving him time to get away, but when I opened the door, there he lay, so calm, as if there was no problem, flashing his tongue as if he wanted to say something. Did you ever try to read a snakes lips? I didn’t know what he was saying, if anything, So I slammed the door in his face once more. I walked stomped away, to find someone to witness the behavior of the charming little animal. When I returned, the little varmint was still there – in my door. When I tried to persuade him to leave, he didn’t want to go. He wanted to come into my house. The more I tried to turn him away, the more he became aggressive and determined to come inside. I told him; “you can’t come into my house.” He was bent on coming in. I said: “no, you’re not coming inside of my house. Go away!” He reared his head to look me in the eye. I stared back. He gave me a few licks with his tongue, trying to figure me out, ‘til finally he reared back in a semi-coiled position and struck at me, I said: “you little devil, you have gone too far. You have to go now.” He was willing to fight me. I became willing to fight back. So the battle was on. After a few minutes, I won the war. I killed him. However, winning is not always that easy.
This comes as I think of other ‘little devils’ that come to our doors in Satanic’ form, trying to get into our homes. Perhaps they seem harmless and pretty, but what is one to do when he cannot tell whether the serpent is venomous or not? There may come various opinions. One says, “Nah, it ain’t venous. It won’t hurt you.” Another says: “I’m not taking any chances.” Another says: “I’ll take a picture and study it.” Sooner or later, we have to decide; what are we going to do with ‘the little devil’. Some people bring serpents inside their homes and play with them as friendly pets. Others are frightened and run from them. This can be a reminder of Genesis 4:7 that provides the options. If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. Deal with ‘the little devil’ properly or he will deal with you – regretfully.
Think of the sin that lies at your door, desiring entrance, yeah, the one that won’t go away. … the little smoking thing, … the little bottled drink. … the little sexual thing. … the one that is willing to strike at you and give you a tongue lashing. Think of the one that is not clearly recognizable and some of your friends say: “Nah, it won’t hurt you.” Then, think of the people that have been bitten or drawn into the folds of the aggressive serpent and were destroyed by the strong, twisting, writhing muscles of what once seemed so harmless. Sometimes, we need to call sin what it is and yell out; “Get away from me, you little devil”! If the serpent will not go away, then you must run from him and bruise his head in the name of Jesus Christ. Let Jesus handle Satan’s vices for you! Trust the Scriptures and Jesus who loved you enough to face the anger of the serpent and was powerful enough to put him down. He was wiling to die for you. He is trustworthy. Trust Him, now before the serpent strikes again.

Hold still. Let me show you something.
4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,
5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. Genesis 2:4-5

These verses are often, nearly always, used in connection to the flood of Noah’s day. Men say ‘it had never rained before the flood’. These verses do not say that. They hold a far greater meaning and have much greater significance. These verses are telling us: God is taking ALL CREDIT for the creation of all things, and He wants us to give him ALL CREDIT. He is saying; ‘nature had nothing to do with it.’ It had never rained! Men had nothing to do with it. There was not a man to till the ground! He did it with no outside help! He did it on DAY THREE! Further reading will show: the sun had nothing to do with it. There was no sun, moon nor stars. The seasons had nothing to do with it. They were created on DAY FOUR! They were created for ‘signs and for seasons and other things of importance. There was NO CAUSE that could make it grow EXCEPT GOD, ELOHIM, THE CREATOR!
One may say: ‘It had never rained before the flood’, and he may be right, but it is wrong to take this thought from its context and say something that may or may not be true. Think about it.

CHRIST – OUR ADVOCATE
By Glen Davenport – 2/26/’23

DEFINITIONS:
A. Advocate – (parakletos) an intercessor, a counselor
1. Isaiah 53:12 ... because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
2. Romans 8:26-27
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

B. Propitiation – (hilasmos) atonement, an expiate, one who satisfies; (atones for) covers sins
A good way to remember the meaning of atonement is to think in terms of ‘at-one- ment’.

The term atonement developed in the English language in the 16th century by the combination of “at-one-ment,” meaning to “set at one” or “to reconcile.” It was used in the various English translations of the Bible, including the King James Version (1611), to convey the idea of reconciliation and expiation, and it has been a favorite way for Christians to speak about the saving significance attributed to the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. (on-line definition)

TEXT: I John 2:1-6
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

INTRODUCTION:
The TEXT offers encouragement to those who my not adhere closely to the commandments of God.
Within the context, there are those who willfully disobey the commandments, (which in many cases, indicates they may not be saved). However, there are those who are cared for under the expiatory (atoning) work of Jesus Christ.

Here, it is plainly stated: ‘If any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

Children of God know they sin and their sins must be dealt with. Jesus is the One who deals with them. He takes them before the Father and makes the necessary atonement for them; His children.

It is the duty of a pastor to help God’s children and to instruct them. That’s what this message is all about. In order to do this, there must be a good working relationship between the pastor and the members. Together, much can be accomplished. A good, trusted pastor can give good advice.
I. There Seems To Be A Lack Of Good Counsel
A. Perhaps pastors are not readily available or accessible.
1. You many think; ‘there is no time to talk.’
2. You may think; ‘he isn’t interested or capable of helping.’

B. Perhaps pastors are not trusted.
1. You may think you can bear your burdens alone, and it’s useless to try pastoral counseling.
2. You may think: If you talked to your pastor, the whole church would soon know your secrets.
3. You may think you would rather anybody would know your predicaments than your pastor.
4. You may think your pastor is impatient and anxious to tell you ‘you’re wrong’.

The truth is: most pastors are far too lenient and slow to condemn.

II. There Seems To Be A Lack Of Concern Over Sin In Children Of God.
A. There is too little prayer – failure to consult God.

B. There is too little conviction over sins committed by ‘Christians’.

C. There is too little consideration for others affected.

D. There is too little appreciation for the Lord’s church – the school of Biblical, spiritual training.

III There Seems To Be A Point Of No Return
A. Sin often goes beyond ‘casual’ to ‘habit’.

B. Sin removes remorse-fulness. (The shame of sin of disobedience is lost).

C. Repentance is ‘out-of-the-question’. (Because everyone else does it’ does not give you or me the right to do it too. When our thoughts and actions violate God’s Law, we need to repent).

D. Unchecked sin will have certain calamity. It is inevitable) According to Numbers 32:23, God said to Israel, But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.

IV. How Can A Pastor Help His People?
A. He can manifest concern for his people.

B. He must receive information through ‘listening ears’.

C. He must help his people reach helpful conclusions.

D. He must establish a reputation of confidence.

E. He must always lead his people toward Jesus – the ‘advocate’.

THE SOUL WINNER
By Glen Davenport – 02/13/2023

TEXT REFERENCES
A. Proverbs 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

B. James 5:19, 20 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

C. Jude 21-23 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

INTRODUCTION:
Perhaps this sermon could be/ should be titled: “Preacher, What are you trying to do? Our goal is ‘pulling people from the fire.’ It is an urgent calling for sure. It is more urgent than a 9-1-1 call, partly because every soul on earth is going down if we don’t reach them with the gospel of Jesus Christ, and partly because the outcome is eternal. Recently, even this week, more than 25,000 people have died in an earthquake in Turkey and Syria. Ministers of the gospel wonder: “Were those souls prepared to meet God? How many?”

I. Who Is A Soul-Winner?
A. John The Baptist, according to Luke 1:16, 17, was a ‘soul winner’!
16 And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.
17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

B. Jesus, according to Luke 19:10, was a ‘soul-winner’!
For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

C. Every compassionate ‘child of God’, according to one of our text verses, (Jude 22) can be a soul-winner!

II. Who Are The Souls Needing To Be Won?
A. According to James 5:19, the ‘erring soul’ needs to be won.
The ‘erring soul’ is one who ‘errs from the Truth’.

B. According to Psalm 95:10, 11, the Jews needed to be won.
God said to the Psalmist, Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways: Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.

C. According to Matthew 22:29, the Sadducees needed to be won.
Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

D. According to Acts 13:46-49, Gentiles needed to be won!
Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
47 For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.
48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.
49 And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region.

III What Has A ‘Soul-Winner’ Done When He Wins A Soul To Jesus?
A. According to our test, (James 5:19, 20), he shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

B. According to Jude 21-23, he ‘pulls that erring soul ‘out of the fire’.
Do I need to tell you about the fire? James spoke of ‘the fire of the eternal hell’!
… the fire of everlasting destruction.
… the fire of everlasting torment.
Perhaps your imagination of eternity is better than mine, but none of us can imagine the seriousness of this effort. Being saved from HELL will be the greatest event of one’s entire life.

C. James 5:20 points to the subject of ‘hidden sins’.
Jesus’ blood cleanses a sinner of all of his sins and completely covers them.

O, my goodness, let’s read together: Ps 103:1-13
Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
6 The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.
7 He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.
8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
9 He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.
10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.

CONCLUSION:
Every compassionate child of God can be a ‘soul-winner and every unbelieving soul needs to be won.
We have our assignment.

Fire was used by the Babylonian king, Nebuchadnezzar, to deter the saints of God from worship.
Fire is used by our Lord to deter unbelievers from the sin.
It is time for the unbeliever to listen to his soul-winner.

A. Soul-winners don’t come around very often. You are fortunate if one comes to you or to your house once in a lifetime.

B. Soul-winners are scarce. If you are fortunate enough to be approached by one, listen to him and respond as he encourages you.

C. Soul-winners do not work for self-gratification. They pull souls from the fire. They do their best to turn hearts unto God and steer them into the way of life.

SIN IS WORSE THAN I FIRST THOUGHT
By Glen Davenport – 1/15/’23

TEXT: (various references)

Introduction:
The first time the word 'SIN' is found in the Scriptures is in the story of God speaking to Cain.
Cain had killed his brother, Abel, and appeared to be running away from home.
His sin had gotten-the -best of him. Life with his parents and family didn’t mean much anymore.
His religious training was a bother to him. Conviction wouldn’t leave him alone.
God told him, saying: "If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door." (Gen 4:7)

I. Sin Won't 'Just Go Away'.
A. It puddles in one's heart and conscience.
1. It stagnates.
2. It hardens.
3. It takes away one's innocence.

B. A soul has to be cleansed.
1. You can't do it on your own.
2. This is a task for JESUS alone.

C. I John 1:7 teaches: the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
1. The grace of God forgives us.
2. The blood of Jesus cleanses us.

II. We Can Deceive Ourselves By Ignoring Truth.
A. We can seek a cover-up.
1. Adam hid!
2. Cain ran away.
3. Achan, in Joshua's day, buried his sin.

B. We can try to believe a thing we know is not true.
1. I John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
2. (Galatians 6:3) For a man to think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself,
3. (James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves,

III We need to 'fess up'; admit guilt and come clean before the Lord.
A. Sin is NOT a hidden thing.
Ps 139:11-12 11) If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. 12) Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

B. Sin is a 'burdensome thing'.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,

C. Sin enables us to deceive ourselves.
Gal. 5:3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.
IV. Denial is dangerous
A. God knows the truth.
I John 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

B. The sinner knows the truth.
We practice 'self-justification' and suffer the harm it does to us.

V. We need to be careful.
Look ahead. Plan ahead.
1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not.

VI. We can talk to the Lord about our sin.
1 John 2:1 And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

VII We are 'transgressors'.
1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

VIII Jesus came to bear our 'sin' burden.
1 John 3:5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

IX. Sinners can have hope through Jesus.
I John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

X. Children of God are free from the penalty of sin.
I John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

XI. We must pray for each other.
I John 5:16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

XII.There is a sin unto death.
I John 5:17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.

CONCLUSION:
A. If you are a sinner and DON'T KNOW IT, you are at a terrible loss. Seek enlightenment.

B. If you are a sinner and WON'T ADMIT IT, you are miserable. You're fighting a losing battle.

C. If you are a sinner and WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, you are doomed. Hell awaits your soul.

D. If you are a sinner and WANT TO BE FREE, Jesus is the answer. The Truth shall make you FREE!

THINGS ALL SINNERS HAVE IN COMMON
By Glen Davenport 1/8/’23

INTRODUCTION:
A. What is sin?
B. Who is a ‘sinner’?

The human being was created on the very image of God. He was created so as to accommodate the earth in a Godly manner, which was created to be inhabited. Earth was to be a Godly place, but disobedience toward God turned it toward a corrupted place. However, God has a plan for redemption.

1. Col 1:3, 16,17
We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, ...
16) For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:17) And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

2. Titus 3:1-3
Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work, 2) To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men. 3) For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another

a. To answer the first two questions: What is sin? We must see God’s Law had a divine origin.
b. The Laws of God were established before the human being was created.
c. God’s Law was, and still is, the Perfect Standard.
d. It was righteous and fair.

1. The first man did not live one day before God confronted him with His righteous and fair Law.
2. Satan paid a follow-up visit and corrupted the first man and the first woman.
3. The first man was told about the evils of violating His Law. To violate the Law of God is to SIN. The violator is a SINNER.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

THINGS ALL SINNERS HAVE IN COMMON

Romans 5:12
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Romans 5:19
For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

I. All men are born with the nature to sin.

II. All sinners serve the same god; the god of this world.
A. (Matthew 6:24)
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

B. Jesus once said to the Pharisees: John 8:44-45
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (V45) And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

III All sinners try to cover up their sins. (John 3:19-21)
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

IV. All sinners try to justify their sins. (Luke 16:14-15)
14 And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.
15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

V.. All sinners hate to face their charges. (Romans 3:19-20)
19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

VI. All Sinners have the same needs. (Acts 17:30-31)
30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

VII. All sinners came from the same place, but they aren’t going to the same place. (Matt 25:40-41)
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

VIII. Some sinners confess their sins, flee from the devil, and turn to the only true God for salvation.(James 4:7-10)
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

IX. All sinners make their own choice. (Mark 8:38)
Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

X. While All Sinners Remember Their Sins, God forgives them and forgets them. (Ps 103:8-13)

CONCLUSION:
A. Isaiah 1:18
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

B. John 8:24
I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

C. Acts 3:19
Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

I have no fear of God exposing my sins or my faults, but Satan will expose them every time he has opportunity. God loves us and forgives our sins. Satan hates us and exposes all of our weaknesses. I wish I could HATE Satan as much as he hates me/us. Herein is a shape contrast between our Lord and our adversary. Satan 'exposes' our nakedness, but our loving Savior 'covers and cleanses us' - without 'telling the whole world' what He has done: EXCEPT "Thy sins are forgiven, ..." Just saying ...

FRUSTRATING THE GOSPEL - Galatians 2:21
I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

Definition: to set aside (by implication) to disesteem, neutralize or violate: a name or designation, especially one serving to classify a set of doctrines.
I am not called to judge, so I won’t make it my business to correct errors in the spiritual realm. However, I am quite concerned about how some spiritual leaders, men and women, compromise basic doctrinal beliefs on stage and in public. This may seem harsh, but “a minister who compromises his denominational beliefs is a weak man, though he stands un-bowing and speaks forcibly while he/she frustrates the gospel with a confusing message..” I can hardly imagine the reasoning behind such behavior. A guilty party signifies a lack of steadfastness: defined in this manner in I Corinthians 7:37 “...he that standeth stedfast in his heart, having no necessity, but hath power over his own will. There is a wavering intent involved it it somewhere.
It is true: most people do not know or care or understand the reasons behind “DENOMINATIONAL DIFFERENCES”. It is probably true in all denominations, including Baptists. Therefore, one may mix and mingle in interdenominational activities without conviction over the harm he is doing. Interdenominational worship is an expression of ignorance. It means: “I don’t know (or care) about denominational differences and practices. One may say; “I don’t believe in denominations.” That’s fine! But there is a reason why there is such a monster. Denominations were born out of controversy. There is a reason why Baptist are “Baptist” and Pentecostals are “Pentecostals” and Christians are “Christians”, (a term of confusion within itself) and so it goes with all denominations. Sure, there are some areas of likeness, but it’s the differences that make the difference.
For example: protestants of all stripes are called “Christians”, including Catholics and Mormons. Some “Christians” believe baptism is necessary for salvation. Some have no security in salvation. Some teach; you cannot and will not know you’re saved until Judgment day. It is frustration to put those practitioners together in one compromised setting. “Christians”, when referring to the ‘Church of Christ’ teach ‘one is not completely saved until he is baptized.’ Baptist teach: ‘baptism has nothing to do with one’s salvation.’ Pentecostals teach sinless perfection and ‘one can lose his salvation.’ Differences may be few or many, but wars have been fought over them. Millions have lost their lives defending ‘Ana-Baptist’ differences. No, “Baptists” are not “Protestants”. Our heritage reaches backward unto the day John baptized his first converts and Jesus built His first church; starting with John’s disciples. Amen. (GWD)
