Our Story
Heart of Compassion provides many services as part of its mission to demonstrate love through the physical distribution of life essentials for the total person.
We distribute to more than 100 organizations such as food banks, shelters, and city and school programs throughout the Southern California area. We provide fresh fruits, vegetables, and other nutritional foods, and also, when available, furniture and clothing to the less fortunate. In 2011-2012, H.O.C. provided $33.3 million dollars of food and merchandise all at no cost.

The success of Heart of Compassion has always depended on the goodness of others. Without the dedication of our devoted volunteers our efforts on behalf of the needy we could never impact as many people as we currently do. We could never repay the hundreds of volunteers required to fulfill our mission. Their gift of time and energy continues to be a major blessing to many.
As evident from our history, HOC wasn't planned; it is just constantly changing. We weren't up all night talking about what we could do if only we had the funds. While others talked about it, WE JUST DID IT.
Nevertheless, we have reached a pivotal time in our development. The fact is: We need YOUR help to continue! We continually need volunteers to help with our public food distributions. Thank you for considering partnering with us!
