Christ Church Monteagle Christ Church Monteagle is just off Interstate 24 and just one mile west of the center of the town of Monteagle. Christ Church is a cathedral church.

In these first Sundays after Trinity, there is a great emphasis on the love of God toward us. Even the parable of Lazarus and the Rich Man is filled with love. The Epistles also reflect this message. Father’s Day is not on any Liturgical calendar, but we will say a bit about it on Sunday and we trust all our churches will too.

Ascensiontide has only ten days. It has only one Sunday. That Sunday has a name although it is not printed in The Book of Common Prayer. It is Expectation Sunday. On Ascension Day Jesus told his Apostles to go back from Bethany to Jerusalem and wait.

They obeyed and ten days later there was the outpouring of the Holy Spirit! It was the day of Pentecost. Study about it and its role in the Jewish tradition. However, it was to be enriched so much that I cannot more than touch on it here: the mighty wind , the tongues of fire, the gift of languages in such a way that pilgrims from other places understood that God was being praised.

We are still in Advent. The Fourth Sunday in Advent is solemn.Solemn does not mean sad. It means reflective.

Our Christmas Eve service is at 5:00 p.m. It will be beautiful and wonderful. Our Christmas Banquet follows.
On Christmas Day the service is at 11:00 a.m.
