In Shakespeare’s comedy "Love’s Labor’s Lost" the characters focus on love. Some try to swear it off completely, others talk endlessly about it, and most admit their powerlessness before it, ultimately devoting themselves entirely to its pursuit. Curiously, one of the central questions of the play is left unanswered: what exactly is Love? This service explores that question in a more expansive sense: what is the Love at the center of Unitarian Universalism and is the labor of its pursuit a lost cause?
