Great teaching... Great worship... Great connections!

What does it mean to be a United Methodist in today's world?

The final Daily News from the 2026 Michigan Annual Conference reflects on Dr. Ashley Boggan's powerful teaching sessions, which challenged United Methodists to reconnect with their Wesleyan roots, embrace holy disruption, and put mission ahead of comfort. The issue also recaps key actions of the conference, including approval of the 2027 budget, the announcement of Michigan's four new districts, celebrations of mission giving and ministry impact, and the recognition, commissioning, and ordination of clergy leaders.

Day two of our Annual Conference... What a blessing to be led by our Bishop David Bard!

What does it mean to be a people with hearts aflame and minds afire?

In Friday's opening sermon, Bishop David Bard reflected on grace, the richness of the Wesleyan tradition, and the call for Michigan United Methodists to reclaim and renew that heritage while honestly confronting the places where the church has fallen short. He challenged the conference to "know that grace, live that grace, and share that grace."

Saturday's Daily News also highlights the State of the Conference, a vision for imagining a church yet-to-be, and the remarkable generosity of Michigan congregations, which led the denomination in giving to the Advance in 2025.
