Monson Community Church

Monson Community Church THE MONSON COMMUNITY CHURCH is located at 19 Greenville Rd (Main Street) in Monson, Maine SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE: 9:00 AM weekly year-round.

WE HOPE THAT OUR SERVICES will be a benefit and a blessing to you. Our fellowship is centered around the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our church is not perfect, but our Savior is. We invite you to worship Him with us this Sunday. THE DOCTRINE, TEACHING, AND MINISTRY of the church is based on the Bible which we accept by faith and with good evidence as the inspired and inerrant Word of God — ou

r sole, final, authority in all matters of faith and conduct. THE MONSON COMMUNITY CHURCH historically consists of the combined fellowships of the Congregational Church of Monson (organized in 1821), and the Baptist Society of Monson (organized in 1827). Combined services between the groups were conducted as early as 1933, but it was not until 1959 that the two church buildings were actually joined together. Members not affiliated with either group were then welcomed to join a Community Church constituency. Some with ties to the town's two other former churches (Swedish Lutheran and Swedish Methodist) attended these services. For nearly 25 years (1967-1984-1991) the Monson church shared in a yoked arrangement with churches in the neighboring communities of Sangerville and/or Abbot. Today the Monson Community Church is congregationally governed, theologically evangelical, and denominationally affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of America (ECFA), New England District (NEDA).

WHAT WILL HEAVEN BE LIKE? What is the Intermediate Heaven? Will Heaven eventually be located here on earth? Will we recognize our loved ones in Heaven? Will our pets be in Heaven? How can we be sure that we'll be welcomed into Heaven?

On Wednesdays this year we will be reviewing Randy Alcorn's classic book, Heaven. You're invited to join us at 11:00 AM every Wednesday at Anchor New England's Study Center (the little red church) on Wilkins Avenue. Come as you are and come with your questions.

GOD WILLING AND WEATHER PERMITTING, on every Sunday morning well into 2026, we will be engaged in a series of study on Discovering Jesus in the Gospel According to John.

DO YOU KNOW WHO JESUS IS? Perhaps so, but maybe not totally. There may be some surprises. At times His words may be more unpredictable than you expected. His nature may not always conform to what you have thought to be the case. He may come across as more loving than you reckoned. Or He may be more demanding than you imagined.

Plan to join us as we discover who Jesus really is according to the person who probably knew Him better than anyone else during His three-year earthly ministry on this planet.

This teaching series may surprise you. It may unsettle some of the cozy conclusions that you've held for years. It may even shake you up. Or it may make Jesus more endearing to you than ever before.

One way or the other, we don't believe that you'll find this series boring. It may change your life for the better. It may provide new levels of hope and meaning where you are now struggling in both areas — wondering at times whether life is even worth living.

You may have never attended church before, or it may have been months or years since you've set foot inside our sanctuary. Dare to walk in and we're convinced that you'll find it warm, simple, quiet, and welcoming.

See you this Sunday!

OUR WEEKLY WORSHIP SERVICES begin bright and early on the first day of the week — every Sunday at 9:00 AM, year-round, weather permitting.

We're located at 19 Greenville Road, or "Main Street," in beautiful downtown center-city Monson!

Our numbers are small but our fellowship is Christ-centered, friendly, and sincere. We subscribe to the Evangelical Free Church of America's Statement of Faith, as at this link:

During our Sunday morning services we sing, we pray, we read God's Word, and there's always a time of solid Bible-based teaching that will encourage, inspire, inform, or maybe even at times challenge you.

All ages are welcome, but our gatherings may be especially suited to seniors who find it difficult to stand for long periods of time, which we do not. Our pews are comfortable, our speakers are well amplified, and we're privileged to assemble in an exceptional history-rich stained-glass sanctuary that literally exudes the beauty of holiness.

Our worship style is traditional. We routinely sing the old favorite hymns, and we sing them directly out of a hymnal. We often read Scripture together and affirm our faith with some of the great historic Christian creeds.
