We look different from one another and we don’t always vote the same. Some of us are younger and some of us are older. As different as we are and amidst all the distinctions to be drawn between us, the Gospel is the common thread that weaves us together. We are a Gospel Centered, multi-ethnic, intergenerational church. Most of the time, when we think of “church,” we think of Sunday. We think of ro
ws and seats and songs and sermons… but if that’s where our definition of “church” ends, a full expression of the church never begins. We are meant for more than Sunday mornings. There is more to the church than sitting in rows. We, the church, have been planted to Grow. Not just higher or wider, but deeper. We exist to fully express the love of Jesus Christ to the community we are planted in. This is what we are called to: more than Sundays… more than songs… more than sermons. We are called to be more than consumers and more than spectators. Our God has called us to be producers, initiators and co-creators. And here’s the best news of all: we have been called out to give of ourselves freely as our God freely gave Himself for us. We have been called to a fuller expression of “church”… one that responds to Christ’s call to love our neighbors as ourselves.
