Have you sensed a call to deeper service within the Church? Have you ever heard a sermon and thought to yourself “I think I could do that!” Or maybe you’ve seen a service led by a Lay Worship Leader in your own parish and felt that gentle whisper from the Spirit that you could do the same? I commend you to consider the Lay School for Ministry in the Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast. The Episcopal Church recognizes the ministers of the Church to be lay persons, deacons, priests, and bishops (BCP 855). The Ministry of the Laity is central to Episcopal Worship as members of the Body of Christ sent out into the world to build up the Kingdom of God on earth, as witnesses to the Gospel in our everyday lives. Registration for fall classes is open, linked below you will find the course offerings and corresponding application. For any questions, please contact Dean Joy Blaylock at [email protected]
