Part Deux!

Rev. Alton Savage came back to Zion Traveler with a continuation from James 1. Last time he spoke on "A Reframe" - today he spoke from James 1:5-8. The message was entitled "Single Vision".

He let us know that assurance does not require insurance. Rev. Savage said that trials have a way of revealing blurred vision. Before our vision can become clear, we have to admit it's blurred. This was a powerful message.

Zion had another special treat during service, our very own songstress returned - Sister Mavis "Isby" Henderson graced us with a beautiful melody. Brought back a lot of memories.

Rev. Savage was accompanied by his beautiful mother -in-love and 2 of his children.

TRUST AND OBEY!!!

Happy Mission Sunday. What a blessed Sunday we had today. Sister Nerissa Jones graced Zion Traveler with a beautiful and inspiring message entitled Trust and Obey.

The magic word with God is Obedience. No matter what you are giving to God. Regardless of what you are doing for God, no matter where you are going for God. No matter how much you are believing God, if you are not living in total obedience to God, it is not enough.

The bottom line with God is obedience. Obedience is not doing anything for God. It is doing the right thing for God. Thank you Sister Nerissa for this message.

Sister Nerissa Jones was introduced by her beautiful daughter Martianna Jones. Martianna was one our youth a few years ago and now she has matured into a wonderful young adult. We are so proud of everything she has accomplished.

Sister Jones’ family was well represented in the sanctuary. Her husband Marvin Jones, her mom Inez Peoples, eldest daughter Nikki McClendon, sister Rosalyn Bonnett-Wilson, grandchildren, Za’Riyah and Zion McClendon, her niece Rashasta Bonnett and 1st cousins Donna Massey and Madison Rainey.

Happy Youth Sunday!!!!

Our interim Pastor, Rev. Gregory Smith brought a powerful message today. His message entitled “The Biblical Bases for Parents and Child Relationship” taken from Ephesians 6:1-4. He emphasized that children should receive their biblical foundation starting in the home. This message was really important for our youth.

The youth department started a segment called “Youth Speaks” which will be on every 4th Sunday. The youth dedicated their first “Youth Speaks “ to Deaconess Margaret Newman. They recited Psalm 23. We are so proud of our youth. Special thanks to our youth leaders: Dr. Pamela Higgins Saulsberry, Sister Sue Jones, Councilwoman Juanita G Woods, Sister Karen Gant, Sister Victoria Stanley and Deacon Vincent Spears.
