YOUTH UNLIMITED - NEWSLETTER UPDATES:
It's been a while since we posted here...
October 2025
Dear Friends and Family,
It’s been a while since our last letter, and we’re excited to share two upcoming events with you.
First, I’m leading a group of five men to Guatemala this weekend for a men’s work trip. The hospital in San Pedro has completed its second floor and needs help installing windows and painting the entire level. I’m thrilled to include my son-in-law, Manny, and grandson, Manny, on their first trip to Guatemala. We ask for your prayers for safety, good health, and no lost items like cell phones. We also believe this will be an incredible opportunity for God to speak to each of these men.
One week after our return, Betty and I will travel to Ontario, Canada, for our annual speaking trip. We’ll be at Camp Pro Sago, a program that teaches Christian leadership through wilderness experiences. We’ll speak on leadership, maintaining faith, relationships, and more. We’ll also have the opportunity to meet with each student privately to offer personal guidance. This can be exhausting but deeply rewarding. Please pray for us to have the energy, wisdom, and discernment to hear what God is speaking to each individual.
Thank you for your prayers. We’re also praying for you, especially as God directs us specifically.
With love,
Blayne and Betty

Dear Friends and Family,
What a joyous occasion! Today is a red-letter day for us as grandparents, as we celebrate the high school graduation of two incredible young men: Austin and Manny.
Austin, the son of Curtis and Karie, has been a standout athlete throughout his life, excelling in football, wrestling, and track. We will deeply miss cheering him on at these events. Austin has been taking college credit courses for the Fire Academy, following in his dad’s footsteps. A natural leader, he is actively involved in the Young Life program, where he passionately shares his faith with his peers—perhaps following in Papa Blayne’s steps. This fall, Austin will continue his Fire Academy program, and we’re excited to see where his journey leads.
Manny, the son of Stephanie and Manny Mejia, has also made his mark in high school wrestling. He’s shown remarkable initiative by starting his own landscaping business in the neighborhood, complete with professional business cards. Manny was recently accepted into an apprenticeship program called Heavy Metal Learning, where he developed trade skills, including welding. While this was his potential plan for the fall, he’s keeping his options open as he works at Lowe’s, a local hardware store, driving the forklift and honing his skills.
Both Austin and Manny will be attending Young Life camp at Malibu in Canada this summer, an experience we know will be transformative.
P.S. We remain deeply involved with Youth Unlimited, working with troubled youth, supporting marriages, officiating weddings, and speaking at engagements. We pray daily for the youth of this world, that they will not be misled but will turn to Christ for the meaning and joy they seek. As John 14:6 reminds us, Christ is “the way, the truth, and the life.” Life’s greatest joy comes from knowing Him and seeking to do His will.
With love,
Blayne & Betty Mae
Dear Friends and Family, March 2025
It has been some time since we shared updates on our ministry with Youth Unlimited. We are deeply encouraged by the impact of God’s grace, bringing restoration and hope to numerous lives. However, we are profoundly saddened by the pervasive division and hatred that plague our nation and the world. As Jesus instructed His followers, “Seek first His Kingdom and His Righteousness.” (Matthew 6:33) Unfortunately, politics has often instilled fear and division in relationships, even within the church and families. In response, God has called us to live with and love our neighbors, embracing their differences. (Philippians 4:5) “Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.” We are entrusted with the responsibility of representing King Jesus! Betty and I place our trust and hope in the ultimate sovereignty of God.
A recent highlight for me was the opportunity to baptize a remarkable young man. Our grandson, Austin, invited several of his football teammates to Young Life and his church. One of these young men belonged to an adopted atheist family that had prohibited him from attending church. Consequently, he was evicted from his home. At the tender age of 18, he is a 4-point student, working two jobs, and aspires to attend military school to pursue a degree in the medical field. Amidst these circumstances, this young man was “adopted” into a Christian family from the football team, with the father being a firefighter who is acquainted with our son, also a firefighter. Over the past several months, this young man has grown in his relationship with God, made a sincere confession of faith, and recognized the need for baptism. This sacred ceremony took place in their backyard hot tub, where he publicly declared his faith to all present. It is heartening to witness young people drawn to faith during this challenging era when many are tempted to abandon it.
As always, we extend our gratitude for your continued support and prayers for our ministry.
In His love and our prayers,
Blayne and BettyMae,

Dear Family and Friends,
Last month was both a full and fulfilling month! Early in the month, we traveled to Ontario, Canada, to teach and mentor at the Proságo Leadership Program. Every year, we eagerly look forward to meeting new students, hoping they will allow us to speak into their lives regarding faith, the future, and relationships. This year’s group turned out to be exceptional—eager to learn and surprisingly strong in faith for such a young group of 17 to 19 year-olds.
Nine days after returning, we flew to Guatemala with five others: Marty and Kendra Pieroni, Steve and Rosemary McAuley, and Gary Cropley. We began with a first-ever marriage retreat in another culture! Each couple took part in teaching, counseling, and prayer ministry. It was a full yet amazing time. We witnessed real healing, not only in marriages but also in personal choices that were previously unhealthy.
From there, we traveled by van, boat taxi, and tuk-tuk (a cross between a motorcycle and a golf cart) to the hospital in San Pedro. At the hospital, we painted, set up commercial-sized shelves for the many donated medical supplies (sent monthly from West BC), unpacked and organized them, and distributed handmade reusable sanitary pads in the village square. Blayne and Marty even assisted in a surgery—only in Guatemala!
Back in Panajachel, we toured the English school, visited learning centers in Mayan communities, and introduced the Pieronis to the directors, Gregorio and Candelaria. School enrollment was just starting, so we couldn’t meet the students, the visit was still impactful.
After a day of recovering from some mild tummy upsets and a time to debrief, we returned home with a renewed vision of the specific needs and how we can contribute to these amazing, practical ministries.
What a blessing it is to be able to do this work, even if we returned home slightly cross-eyed from exhaustion! None of this would have been possible without your prayers and financial support.
Have a blessed Christmas season!
Love,
Blayne Greiner and Betty
