Have you ever been really ugly to someone and instantly regretted it? This guy did, and the remorse was quick in coming, but the lesson took time to be fully realized! Be patient with the discipline God has in store for your short-sightedness!

As NASA’s Artemis mission captured global attention, one voice stood out, not just for science, but for faith. During the mission, Victor Glover delivered a powerful reminder from space:

“Love God with all that you are… and love your neighbor as yourself.”

The mission itself marks a major step forward in space exploration, with astronauts traveling farther than previous modern missions and gathering critical data for future lunar exploration. Commander Reid Wiseman and astronaut Christina Koch described breathtaking views of Earth and the moon, while Jeremy Hansen highlighted the mission’s significance for future generations.

Alongside the science and historic milestones, moments of faith quietly unfolded. The crew was awakened by Christian artists TobyMac and Mandisa, and even mission control referenced the hymn “How Great Thou Art” while observing the beauty of space.

Glover, known for openly living out his faith, also reflected on humanity’s place in creation, describing Earth itself as a “spaceship” designed for life, urging unity, love, and deeper reflection across cultures and beliefs.

In the vast silence of space, one truth rang loud: faith is not limited by distance, culture, or circumstance. Even beyond Earth’s atmosphere, the call of Christ remains the same, to love God fully and love others deeply.

This moment reminds believers that no platform is too great or too distant to reflect God’s glory. Whether on Earth or orbiting above it, the mission of every Christian remains unchanged: to be a light in the darkness. - Justin Gilpin

Dianne is survived by daughter, LeAnne Cook, four grandchildren, Dustin Aycoth, Maegan Cook, Rebekah Aycoth, Jason Aycoth, a great-grandchild, Spencer Cook, a brother, Douglas Webb (Libby) and a sister Sharon Darr (Jeffrey).

Her legacy will be carried on by all of the lives she has touched through her years. Think of her every time you use the “I love you” hand sign. Dianne’s lifelong talent for nurturing children began in her teenage years, when she babysat for 50 cents an hour. She loved taking care of John & Lora when their parents were out of town. As an adult she taught 2nd and 3rd graders at East Elementary and Benton Heights Elementary school. Her dedication was recognized in the 2005-2006 school year when she was awarded teacher of the year at Benton Heights Elementary School. Involved in the scouting community, she was a cub scout leader and girl scout leader for many troops. Leading the last year Michael was in cub scouts and had a lifetime membership with the girl scouts. She won honor awards from the Hornets’ Nest Council. Planned and directed camporees for 18 years. She worked with John Mark Carter and his students. Girls who came were from troops in Union 2 and Wadesboro. Unit caps for Walter Bickett Education Center for 4 years – East Elementary (4-pre-school & 2 K classes). Whether she was teaching Sunday school, volunteering for VBS, her involvement with the Red Cross clown group or sewing caps for the Black Mountain Orphanage after Hurricane Helene, Dianne’s life was a testament to her unwavering love for the next generation.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Oakland Baptist Church, 600 E. Sunset Drive, Monroe, NC 28112.
