We are a small group who, for whatever reason, found ourselves no
longer attending regular church. We had not rejected our faith and were
still practicing, but not if a formal setting as is usually defined in
America. We discovered that we belonged to a growing group of
Christians in this country known as "dones". People who were done with
the normal business of church but still seek God and are s
till committed
to a relationship with Christ. Mission statements are an interesting critter. You post them on a
wall or hand them out at new members orientation. They tell you some
things but they don't communicate what happens within the walls where
the statement is posted. Well we use someone else's walls, we don't
have members, and we wouldn't know where to begin with orientation. Try
looking at YouTube, Third Day with Brandon Heath-Creed. That pretty
much sums it up. It's jazzier than the Nicene or Apostles Creed and Mac
Powell's accent appeals to me for personal reasons. What do we do? We get together on Sunday mornings and we sing, visit, drink
coffee, and then I talk about something for a very short time. At that
point if there is not too much time needed for rebuttal we often sing
some more or drift off to share private things, or to pray for each
other for specific things, or to just visit with each other about where
God is taking us on our own journeys. We hold no secret knowledge or
doctrine. We are the caretakers of no secret mysteries that have been
revealed to us outside of a deeper search for a loving Gods desire for
us to know Him through His Son who died for us. Actually our strongest
gift as a community may be a growing desire to help walk each other
home. What about you? You are welcome here. We are small by circumstance and not by
design. If you would like to see if you can worship more in truth in a
different environment and atmosphere please come by. We run the
denominational gamut from Catholic to Pentecostal light and everything
in between. So if you tried on the pew and found it didn't fit, maybe
you would find our gathering more fitting at this time in your own walk. If you are reading this and you have no spiritual component in your
life and wonder if one exists, you are safe and very welcome. Where do we meet? We meet in the tap room at Adam's Northwest Bistro and Brewery, 104
N. Lewis Street, Monroe. Yes, it's a Tavern with a bar. Chef Adam
Hoffman allows us use of the tap room for our services. We meet from
10:30 till sometime after that. Come by sometime and take part. At the
very least it's an interesting way to kill an hour while waiting for the
shops to open. Who knows, you just might find what you're looking for. Bruce Riggs, Pastor, Twin Rivers Micro Church
