Tonight at Thirst Quenchers, we continued our walk through Romans and found ourselves in chapter 14.

What a needed reminder for all of us.

We live in a time where people are quick to argue over secondary issues, personal opinions, and things that often produce more division than discipleship. Paul reminds us that our calling is not to win every debate, but to love one another well.

As followers of Christ, we should never desire to be a stumbling block to those around us. Instead, we should be willing to lay aside our preferences when necessary, walk above reproach, and pursue the things that make for peace and mutual encouragement.

In the name of Jesus, may we love one another more than we love being right.

Romans 13 is not always an easy text, but God is faithful to give us the grace to receive exactly what we need from it.

At the center of it all is love.

We submit to governing authorities because God has established authority and calls us to live honorably before Him.We desire to live righteous lives because we love the Lord and seek to walk in obedience to His commands. We love our neighbors well because love fulfills the law and reflects the heart of Christ.

Biblical love is more than words or emotion. It is obedience, sacrifice, humility, truth, and living in a way that honors God and serves others.

Love well.

Tonight we went back into the book of Romans, and honestly it’s a little bittersweet knowing we’re almost finished walking through this incredible letter to the church in Rome.

Tonight in chapter 12 we noticed something really powerful. Paul was not just speaking to one individual, but to the entire body of believers coming together as a living sacrifice unto the Lord.

It’s amazing to see how God used Paul, a Jewish Pharisee who had been radically transformed by the gospel, to speak to so many different kinds of people. Jews and Gentiles, young and old, all being reminded by the Holy Spirit that the body works best when every member operates in the position God has called them to.

So much application. So much beauty in the text.

A room full of believers encouraging one another, loving one another, and pointing each other back to Jesus through the truth of God’s Word. It was an incredible night.

Tonigh, after worship, we went right back into Romans chapter 11.

The Word of God becomes so clear when we read it in context and with a heart that truly desires to understand what the Lord is saying.

We backed up into the middle of Romans 10 to bridge the gap into chapter 11, and we were reminded again that salvation is by grace through faith. Not heritage, not genealogy, not works, and not anything man can accomplish on his own.

But that truth should never produce arrogance in us, only humility. Because if we have received mercy, it is only because of the grace and sovereignty of God.

And Romans 11 reminds us of something beautiful. The Lord still has a plan to redeem His people, and that is good news for all of us.

Tonight at Thirst Quenchers we continued walking through the book of Romans, but we also looked at the life of Paul before he ever wrote the letter to the church in Rome.

Beaten, arrested, rejected, abandoned, dishonored, shipwrecked, and imprisoned… yet he continued to preach the gospel.

Even when people he loved rejected him, Paul still carried a burden for his own people, hoping that some might come to salvation.

Tonight was encouraging, but the truth was also convicting. We were reminded again that salvation is by faith, through confession and belief in the finished work of Jesus Christ.

It also helped us understand why people continue standing in ministry even when it costs them so much.

Ministry is not about comfort, recognition, or applause. Ministry exists to bring honor and glory to the name of the Lord, and we continue to share the gospel in hopes that one more person might be saved.

Yes, it was heavy.Yes, it was convicting. But the Holy Spirit brought clarity in a moment of real self examination.

We gathered again tonight like we do each week and there’s just nothing like hearing a room full of men and women lift their voices and sing praises to the Lord together.

The Spirit of God was so peaceful in the room tonight. Not forced, not rushed… just real. From the first song, you could feel it hearts softening, people leaning in, and the presence of the Lord meeting us right where we are.

After worship, we opened up the Book of Romans and spent time in chapter 9. It wasn’t just a teaching it was one of those moments where truth makes you stop and check your perspective.

We talked about how, when it comes to God’s sovereignty, we tend to ask the wrong questions.
We’re quick to ask, “Why do bad things happen to me?”
But we almost never ask, “Why has anything good ever happened to me?”

Then we looked at Romans 9:13 “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.” And instead of getting stuck on why Esau was hated, it shifted the room to a better question…

Why was Jacob loved?

You could feel it land. It brought us to a place of humility. It caused us, as a group, to look at our own lives differently not with entitlement, but with gratitude.

Tonight at Thirst Quenchers was something special. 💙

The worship was genuine, not forced. Just people coming in as they are, lifting their voices, and being honest before the Lord. You could feel the weight of the day on some, but also the peace that only God can give settling in the room.

We spent time in Romans chapter 8, and it’s hard to put into words how powerful that truth is.

For the believer, there is no condemnation. None. Not a little, not sometimes. None.

And there is no separation. No matter where you’ve been, no matter what you’ve walked through, if you are in Christ, you are not separated from the love of God.

That’s not just theology. That’s freedom.

We watched men and women be honest, call out to the Lord, and trust Him right where they are. No masks, no pretending. Just real people encountering a real God.

Grateful for nights like this. Grateful for what the Lord is doing in and through this community.

If you’ve been thinking about coming, don’t wait. There’s a place for you here.

Tonight was special.

We gathered together at Lee Park, men and women, families, people in the fight, and we worshiped the Lord with everything we had. There’s something powerful about a room full of people who aren’t pretending, but are honestly seeking freedom.

We spent time in the Word in the book of Romans, being reminded that through the blood of Jesus, we are not only forgiven from the penalty of sin, but we are no longer slaves to its power. We don’t have to keep doing what we’ve always done.

There was encouragement, there was truth, and there was real direction. That’s what makes this night so important, people walking alongside each other, praying, correcting, and lifting one another up.

If you or someone you love is struggling, you don’t have to do it alone. There is a place for you here.
