LET THE CELEBRATION BEGIN’
A precious saint, Doris Davis, has stepped into her heavenly home this am. That lady is dancing again but now on the streets of gold with her husband and saints gone on. Praise God! What a spiritual legacy Doris Davis left her family and all who knew her! A true soldier of the cross!
Doris was longtime owner/operator of Maranatha Bookmart in Monroe. The store was a gathering place for Christians and all who dropped in for fellowship and prayer. Doris had a private prayer room in the store. She was a tremendous partner with our ministry, QUESTMINISTRIES providing materials for our summer camps at great prices, Bibles that we gave to our campers and young pastors. She was a tremendous ministry partner for my Mexico Mission trips. She went on one such mission with us. She was a generous woman of God. She learned early on in life, “you can’t out give God!” She modeled that and the fruit of Spirit for her sons and grands. Doris was a mighty warrior for the souls and health of people. Many times in the store she’d motion for me to follow her to back of store where in a few minutes we’d be in back room crying out to God on behalf of someone or one of her boys or a pastor! In our latter years she helped a group of women make thousands of dolls that Samaritan’s Purse distributed all over the world. She led Bible Studies into her mid 80’s. Fondest memories with this saint! Now she has a new body, new home, praising her Lord Jesus!
