Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan (CCSEM) implemented Student Prevention Leadership Teams (SPLT) in all Monroe County High Schools in 2015.

Youth leadership teams coordinating substance abuse prevention initiatives in each high school, middle school, and their local communities within Monroe County. In October 2020 SPLT received funding to begin prevention in the all Monroe County Middle schools. SPLT partners with the Monroe County Substance Abuse Coalition to implement youth prevention strategies throughout Monroe county. These initiatives focus on reducing underage drinking, illicit drug use, tobacco and nicotine use, prescription and over-the-counter drug misuse and abuse within our community. Students participating in SPLT will learn and further develop communication and leadership skills and use these talents to make a lasting impact on the lives of their peers.

Drop them off at your local Michigan State Police Post for safe disposal. Getting rid of old meds keeps families safe and protects our enviornment!

All Michigan State Police posts in the state will open their doors to take back unused or expired medications, no questions asked.
