One of the blessings of our upcoming Serve Tour is that some of our local ministries received financial grants to make needed improvements. Rescue Community Church in Bawcomville is one of those ministries that already received a grant to purchase new chairs for their sanctuary to replace pews that were generally in poor shape. They will use them tomorrow morning for the first time.

Also, the Louisiana Baptist Convention added funding to complete this project. Cooperation works to do great things for God’s Kingdom.

Serve Tour is 6 weeks away, at which time over 45 ministry projects will be completed across Ouachita, Morehouse, and Richland Parish.

The NELBA Pastors/Staff/Spouses Fish Fry was held at the Associational Building tonight. We had a large spread of fish, onion rings, French fries, hush puppies, and desserts. Thanks to Stan Wyant for preparing the food. Following the meal we played some games focused on US History. We sang several patriotic songs. We also shared a time of looking at God’s Word. It was a really wonderful evening.

Congratulations to our very own Carolyn Fountain! We are proud of you and how God will use you in this position of missions leadership!

Carolyn Fountain was elected the 25th president of WMU, SBC during the WMU Missions Celebration and Annual Meeting on June 7, 2026 in Orlando, Florida.

A native of Tallulah, Louisiana, she and her husband of 48 years, Leroy, are members of the Well of Monroe, a church plant of First Baptist Church of West Monroe, Louisiana. Together they serve churches in Northwest Louisiana by helping pastors of church plants and revitalizations incorporate missions into their strategy for church health.

Carolyn also works with the Women’s Learning Center (CWJC), a ministry of the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home and Family Services in Monroe, Louisiana, where she tutors women in reading and writing as they strive to achieve their HiSet (GED).

Our regular Executive Board Meeting was held today at Lakeshore Baptist Church in Monroe. A delicious BBQ meal was provided. Several guests shared interesting ministry opportunities we could be engaged with. Steve Kelly, Associational Mission Strategist, gave the latest information on Serve Tour in August. Ministry projects will go live for registration on May 29 at www.servetour.org.
