PINK OUT SUNDAY | SUNDAY SERVICE RECAP

What a blessed time we had in worship today at Power House COGIC as we came together for Pink Out Sunday! As we recognized Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we were reminded of the importance of caring for our health, strengthening our faith, and trusting God through every season of life.

We were blessed by two encouraging messages that challenged us to pursue wholeness while holding on to our faith.

“Care for Health, Renew Your Mind & Nourish Your Soul” — Dr. Odell Riley, Pastor
III John 1:2 | Romans 12:1 | Mark 6:31

Pastor Riley reminded us that our bodies belong to the Lord and that we have a responsibility to care for what God has entrusted to us. From making healthier choices and prioritizing rest to strengthening our spiritual lives, we were encouraged to be intentional about our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

“The Valley Didn't Break Me” — Missionary Marilyn Dorris
Psalm 23:4

Missionary Dorris reminded us that **the valley is a location, not our identity!** Difficult seasons may shake us, but they don't have to destroy us. God doesn't have to remove the valley to reveal His presence. Even in our lowest moments, His protection, guidance, and strength remain with us.

**Don't let the valley have the final word, and don't lose your praise in the valley!**

Today's service was a reminder that caring for our health and trusting God go hand in hand. Whether we're facing health challenges, navigating difficult seasons, or standing alongside someone who is, we can find strength in knowing that God is with us.

Take care of your body. Renew your mind. Nourish your soul. And keep praising God through the valley!**

Wednesday Reflection | Sunday Recap

It's Wednesday, but we're still reflecting on what God shared with us on Sunday at Power House COGIC!

This past Sunday was YOUTH SUNDAY, and what a blessing it was to see our young people participating in worship and serving in ministry!

Our morning devotional came from **Bro. Caleb Burton**, who shared an important message for our children and youth: “Don't Follow the Crowd” (Galatians 5:22–26).

Bro. Caleb shared a personal experience at school where choosing not to follow the crowd kept him from getting into trouble. His message reminded our young people that **just because everyone else is doing something doesn't mean it's the right thing to do.** We must learn to make wise choices, stand for what's right, and allow the fruit of the Spirit to guide our actions. Following God sometimes means taking a different path from the crowd!

We were also blessed by two timely messages:

“Elevate: Health & Wholeness” — Dr. Odell Riley, Pastor

God is concerned about the WHOLE person — our minds, bodies, and souls! We must prioritize not only our physical health but also our spiritual, mental, and emotional well-being. God can heal what others cannot see!

“Vision Above the Valley” — Minister Michael Lemons

Don't allow your current circumstances to determine your future. Elevate your vision, trust God through the obstacles, and keep moving forward in faith! Vision requires us to believe before we see it.

And through it all, we're reminded:

When Jesus shows up, hope is restored, mercy is extended, power is released, and the Holy Ghost moves! Because when Jesus shows up, EVERYTHING changes!

We're grateful for every young person who served, every word that was shared, and every reminder that God is working in every generation!

A Pastor Worth Celebrating!

October is Pastor Appreciation Month, and we’re taking time to show some love to our very own Dr. Odell Riley!
