Looks like your usual churchy message. Yet what could be more important in a world where surly is the expected response. Plant your seeds of kindness in everything you do.

"It was still the first day of the week. That evening while the disciples were behind locked doors because they were afraid of the religious authorities."

That's the first line from this week's reading from the Gospels. We meet Thomas this week as he demands to see Jesus after his friends tell him that they have seen him. We could dismiss Thomas as the doubter, but what would you want to do if you were standing in Thomas' sandals

Join in a simple service around the Table as we remember how Jesus gathered his people on the night before his arrest. We will package the Laundry Love packages as we remember how Jesus washed his friends' feet.

Yesterday our special music folks sang "Standing On The Promises." That's a toe tapping hymn whose message resonates well. As we consider on how we stand on the promises, let's give thanks for those people in our world for whom we might pray today:
Doctors and nurses, lab workers and paramedics, family and friends, teachers and mentors, neighbors and community organizers, grocery store workers and truckers, police and fire fighters, builders and farmers, poets and writers, inventors and scientists, musicans and composers, little kids and teenagers.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayers.

We need news of God's presence. As people reel from the destruction of Saturday's tornadoes and we hear of the violence in Ukraine and we take in the shootings at East HIgh School, we need to hear Psalm 46.

God IS our refuge and strength. God IS proven help in times of trouble. Therefore we shall not fear when the earth should change and the mountains shake.

Hold fast to God.
