You HAVE to read this:
"Michigan's open U.S. Senate seat is one of the clearest midterms and a national security test for the voters. It's a contest between national security experience and progressive politics, with a military and intelligence vet facing off against a nominee whose family has, on numerous occasions, spoken about their long-standing links to the Muslim Brotherhood. Mike Rogers (R) is a former FBI agent, a former U.S. Army officer, and chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Abdul El-Sayed (D) is an epidemiologist and former Detroit Health Director who would become the first Muslim in the Senate if he is elected. The race is a toss-up, and outside spending is already well over $200 million.

Rogers' career has been in law enforcement and intelligence. He was in the Army, spent several years as an FBI special agent investigating organized crime and public corruption in Chicago, became majority floor leader in the Michigan Senate, and represented Michigan's 8th District in the House for 14 years (four of those years as chair of the Intelligence Committee, which oversaw the nation's most sensitive national security programs). His campaign focuses on bringing back domestic manufacturing, protecting Social Security and Medicare, enforcing immigration law, and aligning with the President's agenda. Trump has endorsed him and campaigned for him in the state.

El-Sayed is the son of Egyptian immigrants and grew up in Michigan. He has degrees from the University of Michigan and Oxford and previously served as Detroit's executive director of public health and as Wayne County's health director. His platform is Medicare for All, higher taxes on the wealthy, abolishing ICE, and a path to citizenship. He has raised significantly more money than Rogers.

The contest has come down to questions about El-Sayed's family background and connections. On NBC's Meet the Press, he was asked whether he or his family has any links to the Muslim Brotherhood and said 'No' three times. At a subsequent town hall, when a constituent asked him to disavow the group, he said 'Sure, yeah, absolutely' before going on to call the question a case of 'dual loyalty' based on his religion.

The denials are there alongside statements from his maternal half-sister, Eman Abdelhadi (University of Chicago professor). In June 2012, just after Morsi of the Muslim Brotherhood became President of Egypt, she wrote: "My family has always been Muslim Brotherhood". She added that very same day that she'd "had an absolutely fantastic chat with my mum about her Muslim Brotherhood activism in the early 70s whilst she was at university ". In July 2013 she wrote that she had "family in jail for being part of it" and posted "Praying for all my family that supports the Brotherhood in Egypt. Lie low, stay safe". Abdelhadi and El-Sayed share the same mother, Fatten Elkomy. El-Sayed has said that his parents separated when he was a child and that he knows very little about his mother's earlier activities. No evidence shows he is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Other issues for many Republicans are El-Sayed's 2011 essay in which he downplayed the chances of a Muslim Brotherhood takeover in Egypt, his signature on a 2012 open letter in support of Morsi which called for the purging of the security and media apparatuses that had remained in place, and his previous role as leader of the University of Michigan Muslim Students Association. His mother at one time worked for the Islamic American Relief Agency, which was subsequently sanctioned for funding al-Qaeda.

President Trump has made the stakes very clear. At his Port Huron rally on October 25, he told the crowd, "I'm here to keep a jihadist Muslim Brotherhood member from becoming a U.S. Senator." He went on to say that El-Sayed "would be the only Senator that would have to go through a metal detector before he could get into the Senate" and that "anyone with that record of support for jihadists would be screened and not be allowed on an airplane. They certainly should not be allowed to sit in the United States Senate."

On Truth Social before the rally, Trump wrote that he was "heading to Michigan to fight a Jihadist member of the Muslim Brotherhood. A man who should never be allowed inside the halls of our great and beautiful Capitol building in Washington, D.C. Everything he stands for is bad for our country." He added, "Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed wants our country to go to Sharia Law. If it ever does, he should be the first one tried!" In an earlier post, he had called El-Sayed a "Muslim Brotherhood Jihadist who hates Jews and Blacks and AMERICANS and TRUMP"."

I don’t care who gets upset by this: President Trump, thank you for something bigger than politics.

Thank you for waking up every day at 80 years old and carrying pressure most people could never handle.

Thank you for the missed meals, lost family time, sleepless nights, constant travel, nonstop attacks, and the weight of leading a nation that always demands more.

Thank you for standing back up every single time people tried to tear you down. Thank you for enduring criticism, lies, betrayal, and pressure that would have destroyed most people.

Thank you for giving up comfort, privacy, peace, and the life you already had to sit in one of the toughest positions in the world and fight for this country.

You didn’t need to do any of this. You already had the wealth, success, properties, lifestyle, and freedom.

You could have walked away. Instead, you chose sacrifice. You chose responsibility. You chose America.

Thank you for everything you carried that many people never truly saw. Thank you for continuing to put this country before yourself.

We see you. We appreciate you. And we thank you.

God bless you. God protect you. And may God continue giving you the strength to carry what most people never could.
