COMPASSION MIRRORS CHRIST - "Therefore, as the elect of God put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do." (Colossians 3:12-13 NKJV)
Paul's beautiful imagery reminds us that compassion isn't something we occasionally display—it's something we wear daily, like clothing. Just as we wouldn't leave our homes without getting dressed, we shouldn't step into the world without putting on compassion.
Notice that Paul addresses us as "God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved." Our identity comes first, then our actions follow. Because we are loved, we can love. Because we have received mercy, we can show mercy. Compassion isn't earned through our efforts; it flows naturally from understanding how deeply we are cherished by our Heavenly Father. When we truly grasp His love for us, extending that same love to others becomes our joyful response.
